David G. Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 I was looking over my copies of MCM and I noticed that the most recent issue is December 2015. Is that the most recent or did I miss January 2016?ThanksDavid G.
David G. Posted May 8, 2016 Author Posted May 8, 2016 I'm still a little concerned about not receiving the January issue of MCM.Are they on hiatus or something? I mean we're almost halfway through 2016.Thanks,David G.
Harry P. Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 It's a money problem. As in having the money to print the next issue. Don't know exactly when (or even if) that's going to happen. I don't want to speak for Gregg... he's the one who should be updating you all on the exact status of the magazine, so I won't say any more.
David G. Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 Thanks Harry, I was concerned that I missed an issue or two. Sometimes knowing makes the waiting easier.David G.
Harry P. Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 You didn't miss an issue. Believe it or not, December 2015 is the latest issue.
bobthehobbyguy Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Hopefully there will be an update on the situation soon.
MrBuick Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 That's too bad...I've been thinking about subscribing as a way to support the forum (and I'm sure there's a lot of good information that I could benefit from). I hope they get the issues resolved soon, at least for existing subscribers. If a decision-maker from MCM happens to read this, I'll make this suggestion again. I think it would be worth looking into what would be needed to offer a digital subscription. I think there should be minimal cost to do so considering you must already have a digital version before it goes to the printer, and you could offer like a $5 or so annual discount to encourage people to get the digital version (no printing, shipping, packaging costs, so the discount would pay for itself), and it'd be a way to expand your subscriber base to the newer "digital" generations, or those of us who don't want to store stacks of old magazines in the basement. I know there are a lot of "I prefer the paper in my hands" guys out there, but I think there are also a lot of us who prefer digital versions, for a variety of reasons.
David G. Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 I received my January 2016 Issue yesterday and from the little bit I've seen it looks awesome! Thanks Gregg and Harry!David G.
Harry P. Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Glad you like it... and very sorry for the ridiculous delay. But things behind the scenes have been in turmoil, to say the least.
Harry P. Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 By now I assume most of you have received the latest issue?
Xingu Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Got mine yesterday and it is the first issue of my new subscription. I know a lot of folks have been upset that it has taken so long, I am not one of those folks. I would much rather the owner take it slow and steady until he gets it up and running efficiently again. No need rushing things to the point where the whole thing, including this forum, fails and has to be shut down.
High octane Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I saw the latest issue at our club meeting tonight, and will pick up mine when I visit the hobby shop next week.
TarheelRick Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Woo Hoo, got mine yesterday and have read it from cover to cover. Now what do I do until the next issue arrives?
High octane Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Woo Hoo, got mine yesterday and have read it from cover to cover. Now what do I do until the next issue arrives?Build more models?
peter31a Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Not yet although it usually gets up here a little later than the lower 48. I'm hoping it gets here before our postal service goes on strike. But that could happen as early as Monday so I'm not holding my breath.
modelercarl Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Got mine today. Paid for 9 issues of the mag assuming that would be one year's worth of publication. At the present rate of receiving this mag, one issue every 7 months I guess my subscription is good for about the next 4 years?
doctor phillips Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I received my copy yesterday (excellent as usual).... in a plastic wrap none the less. Thanks for all of your hard work Gregg, Harry, and crew!
Tom Geiger Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I haven't received mine yet, just west of Philadelphia. Upon reading this thread I anticipated getting it today, but the udder magazine came instead! I guess it will be in the mailbox on Tuesday.
Harry P. Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Upon reading this thread I anticipated getting it today, but the udder magazine came instead...Dairy Farmer's Gazette?
Jairus Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Are you milking this thread Harry?(I received issue #201 on Saturday.)
