FordRodnKustom Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 My latest build finished at last. I'm big into kit nostalgia so I did it in a simple 60's style. My original intention was to build a direct recreation of the classic Little Deuce but I was never able to get some of the LD specific parts so I just took what I had and ran with it. It fought me every step of the way but I won and it looks great on my shelf with my other vintage Monogram hot rods. Comments and discussion always welcome.
TooOld Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Couldn't have said it any better , great job Ron ! I gotta get to mine one of these days .
mredjr Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 Great job Ron! Looks like back in the day for sure. Elvin
Spex84 Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 This old kit looks great with the mags and slicks, the padded firewall, and other little details you've sneaked in. It definitely has the "feel" of the Little Deuce even if there are a couple parts you still couldn't find. I'd say you won!
FordRodnKustom Posted July 16, 2016 Author Posted July 16, 2016 (edited) Thanks all! I appreciate your comments on this build. Love it. What parts are specific to the Little Deuce? Best I can tell the specific parts are the a custom grill, tail lights, firewall(I found an original for this one), the engine(the original was a six carb Pontiac) and the wheels and tires(I used a set from the Lil Coffin kit here, they are close). There might be more that I don't know of but those are the basics. Hope that helps. Edited July 16, 2016 by FordRodnKustom
Phildaupho Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Great looking Deuce. These kits are highly underrated and can produce beautiful hot rod models of which yours is a perfect example.
ANovaScotian Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Nice Looking '32! Where did you source those wheels and tire from?
Hubert Rollins Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Awesome, clean build... and that shade of blue is very striking!!
Janne Herajärvi Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Cool!! I had this old Monogram Deuce molded in yellow, i think it was very first model project that i finished with paint.. Cant remember, it was early 90`s..
