Porscheman Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I picked this up at a swap meet for 20 bucks. Chrome was redone with Alclad and the Testors Wimbledon White over Flame Red and Wet Look Clear top coat. Thanks for looking. Lovefordgalaxie Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Love those cars. Pity you didn't have all the original wheel covers from the kit.
Ramfins59 Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Nice Edsel Al. I was lucky enough to pick up an unbuilt and unpainted original kit on EBAY a year or so ago and it's in my large TO DO pile.
W-409 Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 That looks great! Very fine job with the paint and I have to say that I really like that color combo as well. Everything looks just right, except that maybe it would have been a good idea to smooth out those mold lines on rear bumper before painting it with Alclad? But otherwise a top class model (As always from you), one of the bests that I've seen from this kit.Makes me want to start mine... I picked up an old builtup of this same kit a year ago at a Model Car Show. It's in very good condition, just needs to be rebuilt.
StevenGuthmiller Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Very nice Al! I built the same kit in the same colors, but in reverse. I still think the '59 was the most handsome of the 3 years. Good work! Steve
om617 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Great save,looks really good.Hope to stumble upon a 60 some day.
gtx6970 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Cool.I have all 3 years of Edsel kits ( all convertibles ) both my 59 and 60 are unbuilt. but my 58 is an unpainted builder.I keep wanting to build them but cant decide on color combinations for any of the 3
feretzrus Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Very sharp! Great to see another battered veteran saved and restored to glory!
Sport Suburban Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Very Nice! I love restoring these old annuals and you inspired me to show off my recently finished 60!
1959scudetto Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Very nice resurrection, Al !From a junker to a showroom star !Being myself a '59, I like this Edsel very much - I wish I had one in my stash!
