Belugawrx Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 After much sanding filling, etc. Shot it with Duplicolor primer sealer....to seal that squadron putty Still needs a fine sanding, and a light primer before colour.... Cheers
Modelbuilder Mark Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) Great coloration on the wheels. Did you shoot the gold then black wash, or use a gold buffing compound? Edited January 2, 2017 by Modelbuilder Mark spelling error
Belugawrx Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 First guess is right Mark Tamiya X-31 Titan Gold, then a wash of Tamiya black and flatt clear
Quick GMC Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Looks great. I didn't think I was going to like this one, but I really like where it's going
Belugawrx Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 Alhtough mine is a 66 not a 65,...the look is what I am trying to achieve
Sledsel Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 (edited) Those wheels look to be the standard AMT or Monogram NASCAR wheels from the 90's Car kept looking familiar to me, then I saw my son playing with his Hot Wheels and noticed this............. Edited January 3, 2017 by Sledsel
Belugawrx Posted January 3, 2017 Author Posted January 3, 2017 Thnks Steve, Andy , youre right the wheels are from a NASCAR kitLarry, not sure on the reverse 5 spoke wheels on the Hoonicorn ... Anyone ??
DoctorLarry Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I checked C1's site. They make another Fifteen15 style but not those. Might try to replicate them with some other things lying around.I love their wheel styles.
DoctorLarry Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Make that Fifteen52. They have the Tarmac wheels. Their stuff is really nice, too. I am using a set on a build I am working on.
Belugawrx Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 Found a suitable roll bar in the AMT 79 Firebird, made a start on those gills... Rear splitter started Bare bones interior,..I think it has door handles,...but thats it ! More to come ....
Misha Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Wow Bruce! I just stumbled across your thread, this looks so sweet in the primer, all smoothed out. Then the modern air splitter off the rear, whoa, that takes it in a neat direction. I'll be following...Cheers Misha
Dusted1972 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) this is sweet. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Hows that Miliputty work for you?I've never used it.I use the Evercoat 2 part glaze putty for those heavy custom jobs but I'm all out.I learned the hard way about Squadron green. That stuff shrank on me big time. Right now,im using Squadron white and Tamiya putty. Edited January 9, 2017 by Dusted1972
Belugawrx Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 The Milliput works great for big stand alone type stuff,...it hardens up overnight and sands fairly easy,.. Mine is about 2 yrs old, so is starting to form a skin around the outside of the hardener,...hard little chips in the mix Then I like to touch up with either Squadron white or Bondo 1 part glazing and spot putty,...
Randy D Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Killer project Bruce ! The body work is top notch my friend Randy
