DrKerry Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 Oh no! We kinda stocked up on those kits! umm, WOW ?
peteski Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Was it the tooling? At the model club meeting I attended last Saturday I've heard that the tooling was never a problem - supposedly it was some problem Revell had with the official Ford merchandise licensing. The licensing problem was resolved and the production restarted. Not sure how true or accurate this is but I figured that I would mention it. Alternative fact maybe?
bobthehobbyguy Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 I heard it was an enraged buick enthusiast becuase of the incorrect port spacing on the buick engine in the 29 roadster version.
niteowl7710 Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I heard that Hobbico pulled them off the market and hoarded them to increase demand upon "reissue".I wish I was making that up...
zenrat Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 So what's the silliest money they've been going for? I've seen $AU350 on Evil-Bay from a Chinese seller. That's about, oh lets say $US70 at the current rate
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I heard it was an enraged buick enthusiast becuase of the incorrect port spacing on the buick engine in the 29 roadster version.I heard they fell off the edge of the flat Earth.
blunc Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) I heard they were already loaded on an airplane that was trying to take off from a treadmill but the treadmill wouldn't run fast enough for the type of airplane they had loaded the shipment on.or maybe the treadmill needed a turbo encabulator... stavanzer Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I got One, Each of the '29 & '30 last year. Both have been opened. Those should hold me for some time. I'll be glad to see the kit back out on the shelves, though. That Small Block Chevy is a great engine, and I intend to buy another '30 someday, just for the 350.Can we get the Rat Roaster back please? Or was it a sales flop?
Brett Barrow Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Can we get the Rat Roaster back please? Or was it a sales flop?As I remember it did pretty well sales-wise. I think it has to do with the Stacey David license, I don't believe they have a deal anymore. They'd probably have to change it up some. I hope they do.
stavanzer Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Yeah, I'd be up for a couple more of those. Mine was in a box of models that were stolen from my van in my driveway about 3 years ago. They made off with about 15 kits and $50 bucks worth of Aftermarket Decals.12 1/48 scale planes and 3 cars. the R.R. was one of them.

Spex84 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Lol, they could add one letter and call it the Rat Roadster and nobody would even know the difference, because that's what people have been calling it since the kit was announced!
