Phirewriter Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Just got home from NNL Milwaukee. Ed Sexton was there with builds of both the Foose F100 and Cad, the Torino, '70 Charger, Chevy Suburban, and the new full detail NASCAR kits. The Torino will have the stock engine, air cleaner, etc... and yes full wheel covers. The Foose Cad didn't do much for me until I saw the kit in person I'll be taking at least one of those home along with the truck when they come out. The Charger R/T looked really good, as I don't have much in depth knowledge of Mopars I can't attest to any inaccuracies, it looked good to me though. Although I don't build much new NASCAR stuff those looked really nice as well and would certainly consider buying and building a couple based on what I saw.Perhaps someone who was there can post some photos, unfortunately I don't have my photo hosting site set up yet. Or I can send photos to someone willing to post them.
martinfan5 Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 Ok, these photo's belong to Joel Peters updated body
jefropas Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I hope the 70' Charger has the normal R/T wheels or the Rally ones, not what they have shown on the flyer... Jeff
Nacho Z Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I know that NASCAR gets no love, and I actually get that, but being a racecar guy I am really looking forward to the new NASCAR kits.
Jhedir6 Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I know that NASCAR gets no love, and I actually get that, but being a racecar guy I am really looking forward to the new NASCAR kits.I'm not a NASCAR guy, even though I'm working on two kits atm. But from those shots above, I must say I think the kits look pretty good. I see lots of updates to the current modern chassis. I think they'll do well for Revell. Plus, since the chassis are the same, it's just a matter of making molds for bodies and decals. Hopefully the do some Chevys and Toyotas go to with the Fords. The aftermarket guys must be happy. They're gonna be able to make lots of decals sheets. Hopefully Revell makes some "blank" kits to like they did in the past. Now, I just wish they'd do a new full Mustang kit, or even some more pick ups with full detail.
hpiguy Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 More than one on there I'll be adding to the wanna buy pile.
Vince Nemanic Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Ron Hamilton...could you please show your corrections to the Torino body?
Snake45 Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Nothing here I really need. I already have at least two of those H-19 choppers stacked up in the Snakepit. That old Renwal Sherman tank might be fun, if I run across one locally. I've never built a Renwal kit, and would like to give one a go.
High octane Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 The Revell display was really nice at the Milwaukee NNL yesterday and that '70 Charger R/T along with the '48 (?) Foose Caddy Eldo looked really good to me. The built up of the Thunderbolt looked great also, but I don't think that I would build it if I had bought it.
Phirewriter Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) Oh, for what it's worth. The Mystery Machine is a new tool and will be 1/20 scale so it's definitely different from the Polar Lights version. Edited April 9, 2017 by Phirewriter
martinfan5 Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 I know that NASCAR gets no love, and I actually get that, but being a racecar guy I am really looking forward to the new NASCAR kits. Oh they are going to get plenty of love from me, so much that wallet is not going to love me
1972coronet Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I hope the 70' Charger has the normal R/T wheels or the Rally ones, not what they have shown on the flyer... JeffThe wheels shown on the prototype are the Road Wheels ( colloq. , "Magnum 500s" ) , and are not factory-correct for a Hemi powered car from 1970 , as 15" wheels were standard / mandatory when the Hemi Package was ordered . Plymouth & Dodge Road Wheels were 14" . However , this didn't stop the dealers from adding the fancier Road Wheels as a sales tactic .15" Rallye Wheels are the ones that you're thinking of . It was either those or plain steelies with hubcaps (which were standard fare) .
jefropas Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Hopefully they'll get the wheels right...steelies would be great too! Jeff
horsepower Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Personally I'm hoping that the door R/T covers are separate parts so I I can build a fairly close to standard Charger, it'd really be nice if if we could get the base 383 and plain grille as optional pieces.
horsepower Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 that's great news just didn't think June was still considered 1st quarter....at least it hasn't been cancled.. I'm happy they delayed it and got it right. I'd hate for it to be on time but be like that '90 Mustang kit. I wouldn't like another twenty pages of rants about the mistakes......even though it might be cool to have a chopped top version to play around with.?

mikemopar70 Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Wait!Do i see a complete engine in this Nascar??Cool!
mikemopar70 Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Where's the 66 Suburban ? really looking forward to it. anyone know if it was cancelled ?Here's the answer from Revell last week!:Hi,It was there for March by mistake. It has been pulled off. The release is now scheduled for June and it looks good. So I would check with your store on July 1 to be safe. Regards,Ed SextonRevell, Inc.
Brett Barrow Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Hopefully they'll get the wheels right...steelies would be great too! JeffAs long as it's not a Hemi they're fine.
ChrisBcritter Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 (edited) As far as the Mustang is concerned it would be nice if they changed it enough to tool up proper headlights for the thing.I looked at the Mustang in Milwaukee and the headlights are separate clear pieces but were painted silver. Taillights appear to be molded into the rear fascia and were painted red. Edited April 10, 2017 by ChrisBcritter

Hemi with Rallyes would have been a nice variation. Maybe swaps with the 'Cuda...
jefropas Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Not to beat a dead horse, but does anybody have any pics of the 70' Charger mock up from the show? Thanks.Jeff
