SawgrassRaven Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Hey all! My latest diorama. Wilkes County moonshiner. Hope you enjoy!
KWT Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Very nicely done! I dig the heck outta that. Thanks for sharing!
DumpyDan Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Man that is cool, and it is what looks like a small enough show case to pretty much put it anywhere. What size is the show case?
Tom99 Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 That has to be the best diorama I have ever seen, awesome.
unclescott58 Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Very cool. Great job on everything. Mainly the details. I'm very impressed.Scott
Dave Wood Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 if it wasn't for the pic of the case I'd think it was somewhere in the hills of NC great job.
PARTSMARTY Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 The quality of this whole build is simply-"AMAZING IN EVERY WAY-WOW"
SawgrassRaven Posted May 27, 2017 Author Posted May 27, 2017 Man that is cool, and it is what looks like a small enough show case to pretty much put it anywhere. What size is the show case? It was a football display case like you can buy at Michaels. It was in the closet collecting dust, so I actually built the diorama around the case. Thanks for the compliments folks!
iBorg Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 I have an open spot on my display case for this......Absolutely tremendous work.
SawgrassRaven Posted May 27, 2017 Author Posted May 27, 2017 (edited) Thanks again for the kind words. Even though it can't be seen, I detailed the Ford's engine down to the spark plugs. Everything is scratch-built except for the car. I've always been hesitant to display my builds; they can't compare to some of the work I've seen on here (I've lurked for a while). Foxer Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 That is a spectacular build! I can see all the attention to detail that just makes it all seem real without shouting in your face.
John Verkerk Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Thanks again for the kind words. Even though it can't be seen, I detailed the Ford's engine down to the spark plugs. Your kidding!?! , your work is ever bit as good as what I have seen here!!! Excellent work!!!
SawgrassRaven Posted May 27, 2017 Author Posted May 27, 2017 Your kidding!?! , your work is ever bit as good as what I have seen here!!! Excellent work!!!Thanks. Yeah, I've always been insecure with my builds. :/
bbowser Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Your kidding!?! , your work is ever bit as good as what I have seen here!!! Excellent work!!!X2. Outstanding diorama. And there's nothing wrong with modesty. Too little of it around these days I'm afraid.
SawgrassRaven Posted May 27, 2017 Author Posted May 27, 2017 One of the most time-consuming parts of the build (yet almost the most relaxing) was making the hundred or so Mason jars, complete with metal lids and bands. The car is loaded with full crates and there's an open one on the front seat.
