thatz4u Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 (edited) Could not have done this without the late Harry P & Steven Guthmiller providing tips & encouraging me to stretch my abilities, & thanks Steven for providing the missing parts... wheels & tires are from AMT 62 T-Bird Edited June 17, 2017 by thatz4u
MrObsessive Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Very Nice! And I like your license plate as that's the absolute truth!
bbowser Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Very cool! They were so over-the-top, normal for the era. Great color, nice foil work.
espo Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Looks great, glad you could save a very rarely seen vehicle.
#1 model citizen Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Very nice. I' been looking a '60 Edsel to do myself. Nice job!
moparfarmer Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Very nice job..The 60 Edsel was really just a Ford with different quirks that made it look Edsel..Was nice and separate in 1958 but just too radical for that time period..Front end was just butt ugly..
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Nice work Al! Looks a little different than the last time I saw it. Glad that I could help out. Steve
thatz4u Posted June 18, 2017 Author Posted June 18, 2017 Thanks for your kind words......my camera isn't the greatest..the color on the Edsel is Tamiya Coral Blue...
crazyjim Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Pretty cool. Those taillights remind me of an old Comet.
my66s55 Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Very nicely done Al. That license plate would work twice as good for me as that kit was the last one I built in 1960 until 2003.
thatz4u Posted June 18, 2017 Author Posted June 18, 2017 Pretty cool. Those taillights remind me of an old Comet.Jim, know what you mean 1961 Comets were close, thanks, Al
CometMan Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 (edited) Pretty cool. Those taillights remind me of an old Comet.Comets were intended to be part of the Edsel line. The taillights of the 60-61 Comet were the same ones used on the 60 Edsel, interior hardware on the 60-61 Comets were originally used on the 59 Edsel. Edited June 18, 2017 by CometMan
crazyjim Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Aha! No wonder they look the same. thanks for the info, Craig.

thatz4u Posted June 18, 2017 Author Posted June 18, 2017 Hmmm.............I learned something new today! I never knew that about the early Comets! Me too, & my first car was a 59 Edsel....a wagon yet.
thatz4u Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 Thanks Ron, it was fun & built new skills...I'd like to find a hardtop to go with it

thatz4u Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 some call Edsels ugly, others said they were ahead of their time...in 1968 full size Pontiacs looked very much the same
