absmiami
some more assembly shots not sure - but I think the disc for the middle leaf is a bit thicker - I made these about .015 thick - in contrast to the thinner outer leaves ... then made the brass posts for the chassis pickup points
absmiami
each shock has an outer disc that I punched from .005 copper sheet then I made the clips - that look like mechanical spiders these are hand filed from additional machined nickel discs and then simply marked black with a sharpie the shocks are attached with some castle nut castings from that Russian aftermarket company - they make the nut/bolt assembly in different sizes - I am drilling holes in the 1.6 mm size and then cutting them from the bolt casting - probably finish these with a silver sharpie - the real things are cast and therefore have a relatively dull finish ... absmiami
OOPS SNOOZING AGAIN ..... the friction shocks are done so its on to the seats - just about the last parts that I need to make ... renshape again - different sizes and shapes - mostly hand tool shaped with random tooth files and sanding sticks
absmiami
the driving mechanic seat back is recessed on this car - it's a neat feature but I have to piece together the renshape parts to follow the contour of the cockpit opening once I got the part roughed out I began to think about the finish ... absmiami
I tried shaping the part to show some creases in the seat cushion - but it wasn't working well on the mechanic seat back ... so I pulled out a bag of leather scraps and found some brown leather that matches the color on the car the grain is fine so I think it will look okay with some work to finish the leather folds at the top of the seatback and it was reasonably thin - I don't often use leather in 24th scale - but this will do ... will have to figure out the seat cushions - either cover them in leather or make "leather" cushions ... Pico
Leather seats - difficult to work when wrapping around corners. Wrinkles. Easier to work in 2 dimensions.

absmiami
Building a Gloster Gladiator for an IPMS show cub display gave me chance to get familiar w Tamiya’s acrylic laquer paints - good stuff - i hand painted the cyl head royal blue - and then set off the sump pan bolts w some gun metal …
absmiami
The exhaust manifold is really cool - forty years before BRM (and later Ferrari) swept the exhaust pipes out of the center of their DOHC engine - Delage tried it in their new 12 cylinder engine - spectacular looking but maybe not the greatest packaging ??? absmiami
Pico has told me that the design was complex - but its the only way to produce this unique part …. The printed part is very strong - but is a nylon-like material requiring tedious prep - but worth the effort - ill finish this in either flat black or maybe gun metal - tbd -

absmiami
thanks P and thanks for these iconic exhaust pipes ... Gun metal or fl black for the pipes ?? today's Question where does flat black end and gunmetal begin ??? ???
Bugatti Fan
This is a most interesting build. Brooklands Museum had a very original GP Delzge on loan a few years ago and I was most impressed with that beautiful racing car. Brooklands is one of the most interesting transport museums in the UK and we'll worth visiting.

Maybe mix the barest hint of dark brown pastel in with the graphite.
absmiami
I like the idea of hi-liting w graphite - gracias - initially airbrushed gunmetal over the blach resin - will add some hi lites later - used the MRP paints gun metal - which is marketed to the military guys …. They also happen to offer this nice shade of sky blue …

absmiami
This particular shade is perfect for the Delage frame - but the MRP paints are not very opague - so i have to hit the frame with some silver to provide an even base color for my Ukriane AF blue …
absmiami
The first coat is good but a little grey over the silver …
