fordf-100 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Hi everyone, here is an AMT 1962 Thunderbird that I finished recently. I was going for a mid 60's street custom look, lowered with custom paint, interior and wheels. This is a pretty nice kit overall with good detail and it builds fairly easy with some minor fit issues. Paint is a silver base with a magenta nail polish fade and some orange nail polish fade! Comments welcome!! Thanks for looking!
Jon Cole Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 That Bird is about as sweet as they get! Fantastic build!
donb Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 I think you nailed the look you were after. Nice job!
espo Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Very clean looking build and the fade paint job is perfect for the custom look you were going for.
Phirewriter Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Awesome paint and a great looking build. Where or from what kit did you source the wheels?
Renegade Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 The kit does have a few fit issues but you did a great job on it. Paint looks spot on.
fordf-100 Posted January 7, 2018 Author Posted January 7, 2018 Thank for the comments ! The tires are the kit tires and the mags are from a Johan Eldorado kit.
Phirewriter Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Thanks, I knew the mags looked familiar and were in a vintage kit but just couldn't place them.
Slotto Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Great, great, great job. Love everything about her! That paint is awesome
D. Battista Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Very nice ...! Love the wheel choice...!!
John Goschke Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Outstanding! Wish I could do fades like that.
DeeCee Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 It's good to see people play around with paint, nice result.

mod3l Lover Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 I'm glad you found this one Casey!! I missed it too, and that would have been sad! That is a great motivational inspiration for people like me to get my stalled '62 Bird done, . . . someday . . . . . . . hopefully!?! Beautiful work Phil, kudos!! David S.
