DustyMojave
Mustang IIs get dissed a great deal. Not only was it easy to install a 302, they were sold with a 302 as well. If they were built in the late 80s, they wouldn't have been dissed so much. They had pretty good potential. I find it amusing to see a Camaro with Mustang II front suspension and Ford 9". They don't CALL it Mustang II suspension, they try to pass it off as aftermarket suspension. But I've owned 2 Pintos, and that's what they really should call that suspension, since that's where it was 1st used. So I know how to recognize it. I see that your build shows that the roof and windshield shapes are correct, unlike the box top picture. Your build looks quite good. unclescott58
Hey! I thought everybody, other than me, hates Mutt IIs. I amazed at the response this kit is getting. Are others finally waking up to how cool the Mustang II is? As I thought they were when they appeared on dealers showrooms back in the fall of '73? It's about time. DustyMojave
For one thing, Mustang IIs were a whole lot smaller and lighter than 73 monster fat 'Stangs. with a 302, they had a good power to weight ratio, except it was the mid 70s. ALL cars built then were crappy except maybe Porsche 911s. A Ford 302 in '68 made good power. A Ford 302 in 1989 made even better power. In 75-77, they made crappy power. But then that's the time when Corvette 350s made less power than my 1990 Toyota pickup 2.4l.

Painted in Grabber Orange (non factory color for this year). Used foil for the headlight bezels. Not a fan of this style of Mustang but thought I should have one in the collection. A Pinto on steroids! What I like on this site over the FB site is, the pictures are larger and you can see the quality of work easier..Very well done, again... It's about time. I dunno why but even though yeah they're nothing like the Fatstangs that came before and genuinely nothing like the Mustangs before that, I always kinda... liked the Mustang II. Well, if they look reasonably sporty I like 'em, especially the shallow attempts at capturing the muscle spirit again in the late 70s - slow as sin, unreliable as hell but no denying that the thing looked pretty friggin' good in all black with the King Cobra lines over it. Maybe its the Pinto heritage that turned people off? Oh and the Coupe just looked stellar.

1972coronet
Interesting fact about the Mustang II : 1974 was the only year that a V8 wasn't available ! That only made the 'II' that much worse in the eyes of the enthusiasts (and besides , the first OPEC crisis was still a couple of months away when these were introduced) . Over at the Chevrolet camp , an L82 Camaro could be had ; Chrysler still offered 360-powered Barracuda and Challenger ; and AMC had the 360 and 401 powered Javelin . But , I digress ... That is an outstanding build , Randy ! Is that the AMT annual-based version ? Kind of looks like it ; the MPC version had a different stance . Here's my favourite Mustang II : the Sudden Death !
