Mike999 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I'm right on schedule for 1/26 scale day, since I spent part of the day fooling with a Maisto '55 Buick CHP car. Long as I'm here...1/24 day this year was the 98th birthday of Jerry Maren. He's the last surviving Munchkin from the 1939 "Wizard of Oz" movie. In the pic below, he's in the middle:
Richard Bartrop Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I guess next January 8 will be Pocher day?
bubbaman Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 just bought a chinook 1/72 scale - i need glasses just to pick up the seats

peteski Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Eh, it is all jut a bunch of numbers to me . . .
Greg Myers Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 If we could only get this worked up about something serious

Snake45 Posted January 25, 2019 Author Posted January 25, 2019 It's here again! May you have a very happy and productive 1/25!
NOBLNG Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Cool! I missed it last year. Everyone should endeavor to stay indoors and work on a model today! Well, everyone that doesn't have to go to work anyway.
Snake45 Posted January 26, 2023 Author Posted January 26, 2023 Where DOES the time go? It's 1/25 again. I hope you had a happy and productive day! 2 1
Tabbysdaddy Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Cool thread. And today happens to be my birthday. 1 1

Of course, it could also be "Scale Haters Day" for those who think all models should be 1/25th scale, since I don't remember seeing anything like this on 1/4, 1/6, 1/9, 1/12, 1/16, 1/20, or 1/24 and I'm sure 1/28 will get no love either. Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a “scale hater”. But I have been attending a 12 step program. I haven’t made it past step 1. Steve 1
peteski Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 I also celebrated one day earlier. Plus I celebrate on January 6, 8, 12, and 16. But I can't celebrate 32, 43, 87, or 160, but I'm ok with that. Some of us have lots to celebrate.
Ulf Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 When the pandemic broke out, I went to the hobby shop, it was the moment to start again. Once inside the shop I was faced with one of my life's decisions, 1/25 or 1/24 ?? The thought of all the Jo-han kits with amazing box art was the deciding factor. Sure, after that I've twisted and turned on both Tamiya and Monogram boxes but only one Fujimi Porsche has ended up in the pile so far. I know, some kits aren't right but somewhere in the back of my mind are memories of AMTs with Monogram wheels in my boyhood bedroom. The diffuse engraving in old AMT kits and the fight against the drop angle has its charm.
Daddyfink Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Looks like we missed the boat on 1/16 Day. Bummer.
thatz4u Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 a slight mis quote here..."Happy Scales to You" 2
Tabbysdaddy Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 The holiday almost got by me. This thread was a bit tough to find.
Falcon Ranchero Posted January 25 Posted January 25 That’s hilarious. But I am going to have to wait till February to build the next kit in line
LennyB Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I guess I missed 1/24th day 😫 Where's H.G. Wells when you need him?
rattle can man Posted January 25 Posted January 25 For scales beyond 1/25, I say celebrate on the 43rd, 72nd, 160th etc. day of the year.
