Warren D Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Build this out of box, tried a new paint. Testor's Aztek acrylics. Colors are white pearl over copper pearl. This was my first time spraying pearl so it was a learning experience to say the least. Body spent some time in the purple pond...... Copper is a little brighter and has more pop than I can get in a photo.
espo Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Very nice clean looking build. I like your color choice. I hope to have mine finished in a few days with a very similar color combination.
D. Battista Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Outstanding job on your Suburban..! Looks sharp...!
shoopdog Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Man that is super nice! I sure wish I was able to pick one up at HL for 6.95.
Warren D Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I think the next build will be the 66 Chevy Panel Delivery using the same base kit with the Jimmy Flintstone panel body. I'm contemplating paint choices, will have to do some test sprays to see if my idea will work.
RustedBronco Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Nice paint job. I started using the Aztek paints. Have not gotten it to spray on that nice!

I'm finding that you have to add about 10% of their thinner and keep the pressure up. I always use a screen in the paint bottle which helps lower the clumping factor.
DumpyDan Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 What a beauty, well done now go clean it again....LOL
