cowboy rich Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 OK here it is, hope the picture uploads OK, been giving me problems since the last update.
cowboy rich Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Well it attached so to admit some more obvious it's the 352 pacemaker.

Not sure there. I think as long as you reiterate when you post finished pics that the build is judged as a truck only and trailer was finished prior. I don’t see a problem with it but this isn’t my doing so I can’t say for sure!!
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Here is my official entry post. I will start a thread as well. Here is the cab cab conversion for my Dodge LT1000. The frame, chassis and engine (8v-71) will be from various kits, but all new. I'm not sure if I will scratch build a wrecker bed and boom assembly or use the AMT bed. I'm leaning toward the AMT bed right now. All parts will be new though. IMG_8124 by Brian Smith, on Flickr
mustang1989 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Didn't know this was going on. Any chance I can jump in here with my Pabst Blue Ribbon Freightliner? I'll post photos of the parts in the morning. Thankfully I haven't started on it yet.
Goodwrench3 Posted April 8, 2018 Author Posted April 8, 2018 I've got your "Pabst" on the entry list. Thanks

Didn't have a chance to get the box and parts pic today. Not started on it yet so I should be able to have it up soon. Here you go Jeff: Edited April 9, 2018 by mustang1989
Goodwrench3 Posted April 16, 2018 Author Posted April 16, 2018 Hi all: As discussed, today is the last day for entries to TAT 2018 ! Please get them in if you still want to participate. Thanks !
mustang1989 Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 First things first..................... I've got my bench cleared off and I went and bought the latest issue of this FL kit. As with most of my extensive builds I always buy two kits. In order to identify pretty much all of the fit issues I'm going to have and how I'll be negotiating them , I'll be building this newer kit up bare bones with no painting process involved. One way or the other I'll end up finishing this sucker in the best way I can.
mustang1989 Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Kit acquired today Got the frame and suspension already assembled. The front axle is just lying on top of the leaf springs. I'll be working with this part to ensure the tires end up where they are supposed to. I'll look into that whole headlight ordeal when I get there. Dunno if I'll do anything with that or not yet. Depends on how nasty and in depth the surgery is going to be.
Goodwrench3 Posted April 18, 2018 Author Posted April 18, 2018 (edited) This is a great chance to discuss all of the questions around this kit ! Of particular interest are the AMT instructions around the rear axles and drive train (which are not very clear). Here is some info from the ATHS website -- note that the driveshaft enters the forward axle on top and also the shaft between the forward axle and rear axle exits the forward toward the top (near the frame). I had a picture of a Freightliner during assembly at the plant that showed the rather extreme angle of the shaft between the forward (upper exit) axle and the rear (lower entry) axle, but can't locate it at the moment. Maybe some others here can clarify this. Actually I did locate the picture of a pair of axles in the Freightliner assembly plant ready for installation. Thanks ! Edited April 18, 2018 by Goodwrench3 added picture
Bartimaeus5000 Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 (edited) Well dang this would have been awesome. Edited April 18, 2018 by Bartimaeus5000

Bugatti Fan Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Been following Tim Ahlborn's Truck Stop in the magazine but it seems to have disappeared from later issue(s). Has he stopped writing his column?

I don’t think they stopped it as they SAE photographers took photos at the Milwaukee NNL for an upcoming article they’re putting together on scale semi wreckers...
Oldmopars Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 So when is the official end to the TAT? When do we need to post our entry?
iamsuperdan Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Unfortunately, my entry is still in the boxes, and completely unstarted.

Warren D Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) I'd like to join in on this with the Brockway Water Wagon I started working on Jan1 this year. Project is taking an AITM Brockway 761 cab and fitting it to an old Paystar 5000 mixer chassis that is being re-habbed. Tank is from the Lindberg Dodge L700 kit and will have a water pump with AITM parts, scratch built water pipes/fittings. The build thread is alreeady started but I'll add the BRBO logo if approved. Whoops, I guess not if we aren't supposed to start until Feb. This one is already well under way. Edited January 12, 2019 by Warren D
