geemoney Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I am SO enamored by this drawing. my build will not be accurate to this, but in the same vein.
GMCMAN52 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 looks like a kool project that you have going on
misterNNL Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Looking like a nice start. Remember that the real Crosleys were only four feet wide. They were made that way so they would fit through the front doors of the retail stores they were originally sold in. Crosley also made refrigerators and radios so the cars were sometimes displayed right next to a fridge. I have some photos I took recently of some real Crosleys near here that I can email to you if you PM me your address. I look forward to watching this build develop.
espo Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Looks like a fun build. The Red body you're using, is it one of the early Fiat bodies ??

bobthehobbyguy Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Nice start. Where did you find the drawing? Also curios who artist is.
Modlbldr Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 I wonder what it would look like in a Citroen? Later-

misterNNL Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 I love that revisited T&C custom. That would be a great model project as well.
bobthehobbyguy Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Looked at the link and all of the other drawings are Th8m Taylor drawings. The article was written by wpengine.
geemoney Posted April 2, 2018 Author Posted April 2, 2018 I appreciate all the comments! Ugh! Virtually NO progress! Yes, the body is the AMT Fiat (been gonna build it since like '79) Thanks Russel for answering the artist question, I did not know who drew it. love ALL of Taylors stuff! I started roughing in crosley-esque fenders and started a nose outta X-Ray film. Also thought about using a Deuce frame, so I stripped one down to front crossmember and rails. Probably wont see enough of the frame to matter. 1
misterNNL Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Nice work on that front end.The fenders and sheet metal are looking very close to what the real cars had. Thanks for sharing. You might want to consider have some bodies cast from this for future projects or other builders to use.
geemoney Posted April 9, 2018 Author Posted April 9, 2018 im thinkin BOSS 429 1/4 elliptic springs MEGA dropped axle body is crude, a little mud will fix it
geemoney Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 WOW, I have seen this when I was looking up Crosley pics! its a bit long for me! slow progress, but progress none the less! thanks for looking, commenting, etc.
Oldmopars Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Had you seen these on E-Bay? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Batto-Crosley-1-25-Resin-Body-Decal-Sheet-from-Fremont-Racing-Specialties/323207032257?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D44040%26meid%3D93f87e4cadac4c42acd63b78e9fb3bbb%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D323068531863%26itm%3D323207032257&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850 Resin Crosley, might save some time scratch building. Looks decent.
89AKurt Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Love the unusual subject! You have another cheerleader.
geemoney Posted April 16, 2018 Author Posted April 16, 2018 I had NOT seen that resin body, looks good. TY I managed a little progress on it over the weekend.
geemoney Posted April 17, 2018 Author Posted April 17, 2018 TY for the comments! as usual, my builds are usually close to what I envisioned, on one side only! I think I need to slant the windshield frame back a bit more pics soon
