cobraman Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I really like it but then I do favor the odd ball stuff.
Joe Handley Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Kinda disappointed that they didn't try to stuff a shortened C5-C7 running gear in there, if you're going out there, might as well go all the way out there.

I agree, but it's hard to beat a solid rear axle if one of the vehicle's intended missions is repeated tire-smoking burnouts with things staying together. IRS won't last as long with that kind of constant abuse.

The fab work looks good, and the frame appears to be relatively intelligently designed. Unlike a rat, there's no inherent reason this thing can't go as fast as its engine will push it. On the other hand, if it's not ever going to go faster than 25MPH, why bother with all the additional engineering complication of IRS, a custom-length torque-tube and shaft, and shift linkage to the rear? A no-go showboat doesn't need to handle well, so the Corvette IRS would be complete overkill...like the three blowers on the monstrosity shown elsewhere. Ah well. Never mind.
TooOld Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Definitely a cool idea . How 'bout taking it a little further ?
unclescott58 Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Nah. I really do not like it. It barely looks like the Corvair 95 it once was.
gtx6970 Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 meh, Sorry . Not a fan of the hot wheels look in the 1/1 world
Spex84 Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Well that's creative! I love it. I'm so glad there are people out there with both vision and fabrication skills. Can't wait to hear and see it moving under its own power. It would make a totally nutso drift truck if they could get the weight distribution and steering/suspension geometry right. It has the look!

I didn't intend to knock the fabrication work, I agree that looks like it'll be very solid, I'm just wondering if it will see much road use or just be a show queen. I'm hoping it'll be road going like the above FC is, but I'll believe it when I see pics of it in use on the road. Edited June 7, 2018 by Joe Handley
