Jail time for Mr.Cosby

Just saw that Bill Cosby was sentenced to 3-10 years in jail for sexual assault.And the judge denied his bail.Very sad ending to a great career.

Oh without a doubt.Hes 81,so any amount of jail time means life for him.I just don't understand why the judge would deny his bail,while waiting for his appeal.Its not like he can escape somewhere,and go hide.

He should get what he deserves,but I was always a big fan of his.Like I said,a sad ending to a funny man..

It's a total shame. Of all the famous people that go down for the big crimes he has to be one of the most mind blowing ones.  Bill was a brilliantly funny icon but mostly...... nuts to him. When you do what he did, see ya, bye!

What's sad is that it took so long for people to come forward and that he got away with it for so long.

Have all his LP albums! He was a very funny man.

I have reservations about this whole thing especially with Gloria involved in it. We will never know the whole truth of this and that is sad.

It was all from an era where drugs flowed like water and women were doing what ever it took to climb that ladder to success most failing to even get past the first rung and I would guess saw an opportunity to try and get something out of their failures.(civil suits)

I'll just listen to his old funny recordings and remember the good old days!

Your exactly correct.Like I said,I've always been a big fan of Bill Cosby.Its just too bad this had to happen..I think his best act was "Bill Cosby Himself",stand up routine from the early 80s..."Dad is great,give us the chocolate cake"

As kids we'd sneak out 'Why is there air' LP, put it in the huge console stereo and listen while our folks were gone. 

The whole thing is a cluster **........Many of those involved have hands as dirty as Cosby......but that's SOP today.

I think 30-50 years ago before the internet it was a lot easier for celebrities and their lawyers to cover up their bad behavior and crimes..

No, it's more like - The fact he is going to prison is proof positive that he was FOUND GUILTY BY A COURT OF LAW beyond a reasonable doubt,

Only Cosby and the women involved really know for sure. Understand, I'm not advocating for him or for the women. We just have to remember that lawyers on both sides can twist the facts to the point they are unrecognizable. It's too bad the real truth can't somehow be extracted in a court of law, but it's the best system we have so we live with it. And like others, it sure bothers me that some of these things happened 30 - 40 years ago and nothing was ever said until now.

Thats right,the court system is the only one we have.And it's far from being perfect.There have been plenty of people who were innocent,but are found guilty,and sentenced to jail.Happens all the time.Im not saying Cosby is innocent,or anything..But again the whole entire situation just sucks..

Exactly.

I wasn't there, I don't know the truth, I'll never know the truth, and frankly, I haven't been following the witch-hunt.

But just because a lot of people are in the street with pitchforks screaming "burn him !!! burn him !!!", I won't join the slavering throng.

I know enough about the justice system, from personal experience, to know IT IS NOT INFALLIBLE.

This has hit kinda close to home. He's has always been one of my very favorite entertainers from a young age. Dad had all the LP's and as a pretty PG rated comedian, they were mine to enjoy. We watched and enjoyed the Cosby Show and he sorta became America's dad. I've seen him live and always thought the world of the guy. To hear the allegations and know what he was, those old bits are hard to listen to when they pop up on my Pandora comedy station.

I was skeptical on the first couple, but there are enough victims to fill a classroom. That kinda takes it beyond witchhunt and more into "where there's smoke, there's a raging inferno" territory for me. Hate to say it, kinda thinking that with the current situation with the SCOTUS nominee too.

Completely different situations. The Cosby accusers had all sorts of facts and details and corroboration and witnesses. There is NONE of that with the SCOTUS nominee so far. Not a single credible bit.  But I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings. Who knows?

Overtly political...(and I'm exercising a great deal of self control in preventing myself from making it more so) because of the timing of the allegations against the SCOTUS nominee at the 11th hour of the confirmation hearings, and the political leanings of the accusers vs. said nominee (as well as the political leanings of the main-stream media who are making a circus of the whole thing).

Also, it's interesting to me that the "presumption of innocence" when one is tried before a court USED to be one of the basic RIGHTS guaranteed to Americans, but now, a trial and conviction in the media is becoming the norm.

Now there is a big B-I-N-G-O. We have media totally out of control. There is no way a completely impartial jury can be seated for any of these big legal battles.

I also think the media has far overstepped their bounds making some of the comments they make about our political leaders. Like them or not, they are the current elected officials and that SHOULD garner a certain deal of respect from the media.
