Greg Myers Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 (edited) John Teeling brought up something worth discussing. Edited October 24, 2018 by Greg Myers
Greg Myers Posted October 22, 2018 Author Posted October 22, 2018 I always thought these were called "Ute" and primarily from the Land Down Under.
Greg Myers Posted October 22, 2018 Author Posted October 22, 2018 (edited) Being similar to what John showed us. Can't find many on line not knowing what to call them. Edited October 22, 2018 by Greg Myers
Chuckyg1 Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I always liked this body style. It's cool and different. Sort of a precursor to the El Camino/Ranchero. Years back, someone offered a couple of resin options. Don't know if they're still available though. I'd like to see the 37 Chevy/39 ford tooled up.
Chuckyg1 Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 The just announce Hyundai Santa Cruz. Kinda has the "ute" look.

Rob Hall Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I like the Australian Holden Ute and Ford Falcon Ute...
iamsuperdan Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Have a look at Smyth Performance. https://www.smythkitcars.com/ He's building ute kits for Volkswagen Mk4 Jetta, Volkswagen Mk5 Jetta, Audi A4, Dodge Charger, and now the Subaru WRX/STI. I love this stuff. Picturing an SRT Charger Ute.
Little Timmy Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 That has to be the "Coolist" thing I'v seen , in a long time !
Tom Geiger Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I finished this one in 2009, from the snap kit. Back in the 1930s you could buy the drop in pickup box for a coupe. I believe you could find it in the Sears catalog. I thought that would be a cool idea for this rod.
Art Anderson Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I really do need to finish this one, that I had started as a possible All American Models resin transkit years ago: 1937 Chevrolet Coupe Express:

Deathgoblin Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 On the two coupes with the beds sticking out of the back, judging by the seals around the edges it looks like the beds are removable/retractable. The burgundy and black one looks almost like the bed slides in and out like a file drawer. Is this the case?
Oldcarfan27 Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Considering that it still has a trunk lid and what looks like tracks on the side, I would have to say "yes"
Brizio Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Two build I really enjoy. The EL Hursto, out of a Cutlass Revell kit in 1/25. Here the full build: EL Hursto And the Ferrari Unicorno, also from a Revell kit. Here the full build: Ferrari Unicorno
