Ah....the always observant Luc breaks news once again.  

This one has been in the works for at least a couple of years....I had provided Revell with an extensive list of possible refinements to the body casting and it will be interesting to see if they incorporated any of them in this latest extension of the kit tool (I was told they would not, but....).   TIM

Yes, and notice it's listed as 1/25th.  I'd heard that an AAR version of the recent '70 tooling might be coming.

So is what's in those photos what we can expect from Revell next year (including what was Revell USA)? Or just speculation?

Tim, I'd like for them to change certain things. The first thing is to get rid of are those 'flared' wheel wells. To much 'lip' on them which the 1:1 did not have. Also, I'd like to see them move the body crease up by just a hair, and lower the door sill line just a teeny bit.

At least that's the changes I'd make to the kit I have if I ever get the ambition to build it!

The info presented was published by an UK mail order company, is it correct....maybe at the time of publication, we will know for certain Jan 1st.

Bill.....the wheel lips were also at the top of my list.  I also included your comments about the intersection of the roof with the leading edge of the C-pillar (at lest I recall you as being the first one to notice that). 

I've also pondered the location of the body crease vs. the real car....

Given the difficultly of tweaking body tools these days (as explained to me by those who understand the Chinese tooling approach vs. the US/Windsor Canada tooling sources used previously), making even minor refinements to bodies is a far more involved (and expensive) process than it used to be.  I'm not expecting much, if any refinements, but hope to be surprised.    TIM

It is listed as 1/25th though.  Maybe a new custom version of the '66 Impala (only been the one stock version so far) ?

I bet it's the wagon, it's been a little while since that was out last (6 yrs), and I don't think it was ever released in Europe.

Round2 doesn't have the licensing or tooling to those old Ertl tractors.

Tomy kept the Ertl brand and still uses it to produce all manner of diecast farm implements.  It's been 10-11 years now, but I distinctly recall Round2 saying they didn't get anything from that Ertl farm line, including the plastic kit tooling.  So presumably Tomy still has it hidden away somewhere if they didn't scrap it.

So R2 got some Ertl tooling but not the farm stuff??/ I don't know otherwise but seems odd a Japanese die cast toy maker would give all Ertl plastic kit tooling BUT the tractors to R2........wish we could get a reissue no matter who has it.

The farm equipment kits though fit in with one of ERTL's core product lines--the metal farm equipment toys.

It's after New Years in Germany, so the list is out, and the Hannant's one was correct.  Nothing new or added to it, at least in terms of automotive.  So you bullet points at least out of the German side are the new tool tractor (which will be SnapTite like the Porsche Junior), the new tool Land Rover Series III, and a modified reissue of the '70 Cuda with new pieces to make it into AAR trim.

EDIT - 

The "1966 Chevy Custom" in 1/25 seems to have been replaced with a 1956 Chevy Custom in 1/24 which would be the old Monogram Street Machine/Drag kit.

I'd hope the Land Rover will be a '70s Series III (predecessor of the Defender), rather than the mainstream Discovery III of the '00s...(which was sold as the LR3 in the US).
