StevenGuthmiller
I believe that I know what I will be doing all day today. It took me a good 20 minutes to get one hubcap detailed, and by the time I was done, my eyes and fingers hurt! Need to take a rest between each one! I'm glad that I didn't have these wheel covers re-chromed. I think the original dull finish replicates the real hubcaps better than new bright, shiny chrome would. ewetwo
Do you use a magnifying light Steve? Did you do the whitewall? My hands are too shaky to get that detailed but it sure is beautiful.

My hands are too shaky to get that detailed but it sure is beautiful. Yes David, I use a lighted magnifier. I would have to give up building without it! The whitewall tire is from the Moebius '65 Plymouth kit. You can now order sets of these tires from on line hobby suppliers. I'm still not certain if I will use these, or the original tires from the '67 Ford kit. Steve

StevenGuthmiller
The rolling chassis is finished except for one exhaust pipe that needed a little re-working. Now back to the body detailing. Steve

StevenGuthmiller
Finished up the detailing on the front bumper and grille, as well as the rear bumper. I drilled out the original chrome head lights to accept new buckets and lenses, and then once the lenses were installed I did the old "wire ring" trick around the lenses to add a little more realism. dino246gt
Wow, I hope to see it in Minneapolis this Spring? Seeing it during construction, MAY influence my vote for best road car! It sure is gorgeous, as are ALL of your amazing builds, cheers!

StevenGuthmiller
A few more details finished and ready for final assembly. The glass has been polished and tinted. I found a mirror from the '68 Mustang kit and pinned it for installation. The antenna is done. Had to fabricate a rectangular base for this one. Dome light? Why not! StevenGuthmiller
Doing the hood insulation required just a tiny bit of masking! Steve

Don't forget sunvisors! What an amazing build! I'll most likely skip the sun visors Dennis. They'll probably just get in the way of glass installation, but I'll see. I suppose that I could add them after the glass is in. I really didn't do much extra on the inside of the top anyway. Most of the foil is just "wrap around" from the outside that has been trimmed up a little and touched up with Molotow pen. The headliner is just a coat of flat tan paint. The dome light was just an after thought that popped up when I decided to remove the runner between the front and back glass. It took about five minutes to make by cutting a thin ring of plastic tubing for the bezel and a piece of plastic rod for the lens and just painting them. Now I guess I have run out of parts to make and detail, and therefore excuses, to not beginning final assembly. Steve
StevenGuthmiller
The glass, rear view mirror and sun visors are installed. Now it's ready for the interior and chassis. This will likely be the last post and final pictures before this build makes it's way to "Under Glass". A big thank you to everyone who helped and commented on this project.
