THarrison351 Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 (edited) Last video: Wow, that was totally different. No silly smoke show and useless fireballs. Just pure shaft horsepower. Awesome! Edited December 23, 2018 by THarrison351
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Strap some weenies on a grille over that turbine exhaust and your lunch'll be ready at the end of your run, too.

I've been going to the drag strips since the mid-60's and a LOT of people like the smoke shows and fireballs when the the jet dragsters are coming up to the starting line. It also draws people, and people mean MONEY.
THarrison351 Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 (edited) Meh. Too each his own. I like the straight up racing. Edited December 23, 2018 by THarrison351
Joe Handley Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 For me, something that off the wall, especially with the Arfons name painted on it too, would be a draw for me. Kinda reminds me a bit of the pulling tractors Art and daughter Dusty ran back in the 80's.
ZTony8 Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I wonder if the exhaust blows back into the cockpit or over it?
58 Impala Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 (edited) Don't know if I would sit behind that flame thrower. Edited December 23, 2018 by 58 Impala

vintagercr Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I think I would like the motor in the back
Dave Ambrose Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Thank you for sharing these. I may have to build one of these. I'm impressed with how stable that car is through its run. Having the exhaust directed upward like that surely helps a lot, as do the winglets on the front.
Joe Handley Posted December 24, 2018 Author Posted December 24, 2018 Any info on that early jet slingshot DaddyFink?
lordairgtar Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Broadway Bob, former owner of Great Lakes dragaway used to ride the nose of the jet cars when they pulled up to the line.

Yes he did as Broadway Bob was quite the "showman" and had some great events especially in the 60's getting all the "big names" to race at Great Lakes Dragaway.
