Mr.Zombie Posted February 24, 2019 Author Posted February 24, 2019 Taking pictures is not my strong suit, but I try to do my very best out of respect for you, the viewers. Most of you will never see this one live, so it’s my job to present it to you in a way so you are not wasting your time by klicking on this topic.
beeRS Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Well done. Its great to see an iconic Mk1 built as a road car, rather than a rally one. Now all you need is a Mk2 to display next to it!
Funkychiken Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Well, to me Mr Zombie, it looks amazing!
geetee66 Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Yeah, you nailed it! you crammed in a lot of details which really work well. I get to see a whole bunch of these MK1's here in the U.K. during the summer months. All of them are tuned and caged. Hardly any are 'stock'. I love these cars and you captured the feel of it very well. Despite the problems you mentioned, you got a very nice model out of this kit.
Dann Tier Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 What an awesome little beast...VERY realistic!!!

I like your build and the photos too. I assume that, given your avatar name, you'll probably have to mostly take them at night, which isn't easy...
57peppershaker Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Yup ya nailed it ! Thats how most were when they were just cheap cars. Heres mine from waaaay back when I was 18
Mr.Zombie Posted March 5, 2019 Author Posted March 5, 2019 (edited) That’s an awesome picture! Edited March 5, 2019 by Mr.Zombie
Oldmopars Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I love the Escort you did, looks great. I have always loved those cars, too bad they never made it to the USA. The "Escort" we got in the 80's was a rolling turd.
ShawnS Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 What a great little model Adam. It's a different type of challenge to replicate a 1:1 car that you are actually familiar with. There is only so much a builder can do to the main model so attention must be paid to the small details to bring a little extra personality to the build and your model has a lot of personality. All of the interior junk and tools etc are the perfect finishing touch for this model. Well done.
Straightliner59 Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 I ran across this, while looking for inspiration for when I build mine. I found it, here! Very nice work, Adam!
dublin boy Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 The RS 4 spoke alloys look fantastic, can you give us a link to the site please?
Dominik Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 cooooool ! That is what i call a replica!
Zippi Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Nice looking. Looks like the end result is a pretty darn looking match to the 1:1.
