crazyjim Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 I did this build for an IPMS review. It's built out of the box as factory stock.
MrObsessive Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 That's a good looking little car Jim! Kinda reminds me of a mini Barracuda!
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Saw one of these the other day. Thinking of getting one when I get my tax money back.
crazyjim Posted March 21, 2019 Author Posted March 21, 2019 Thank you Bill, Keith, Chris, Michelle, Jason, Jim, Curtis, and Eric. I've never seen or heard of the car, but IPMS was offering it free for a review, so I jumped on it. It's supposedly a $45.00 kit.
Classicgas Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Very cool and well done. Does it offer left hand drive?
crazyjim Posted March 21, 2019 Author Posted March 21, 2019 Thanks Lee. Only right hand drive unfortunately.
Hmann68 Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Wasn’t expecting this on your post, but you did your usual great work on it!
crazyjim Posted March 22, 2019 Author Posted March 22, 2019 Thanks Christopher, Eric, and David. It's a Hasegawa kit, Lee.
crazyjim Posted March 23, 2019 Author Posted March 23, 2019 Your are correct about being curbside, Lee. Thank you Larry.
cobraman Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 Hey Jim ! A little late to the party but want to say this model looks very good. Do we know why they mounted the mirrors so far forward on the fenders ?
crazyjim Posted March 23, 2019 Author Posted March 23, 2019 Thanks Ray. After absolutely no research on my part, I figure the mirrors were placed there to knock over roadside mailboxes.
Flat32 Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 I drove Toyota Corolla coupes, '73 and ''74 vintage, that were similar looking and had the mirrors in the same position. Drove in Taiwan very crowded city traffic among people, bicycles, scooters and motorcycles. Mirror placement allowed you to see alongside while looking forward through the windshield. They were great. Mine weren't black bullet nosed things, but nice small chrome ones that didn't spoil the car's style. Also note that in the rainy season closed side windows get spattered with rain obscuring your view through door mounted mirrors.
