jjsipes Posted February 15, 2020 Author Posted February 15, 2020 After dealing with helping my Father with taking care of my Grandmother and ultimately passing the past 3 weeks and taking a break from my 55 Nomad build, thought I might get this back out to work on some. Got some chassis work completed. Still toying around with my wheel choice. Just not 100% sold on them yet.

Don't ruin it with ugly wheels. If you feel like an after market wheel is the way you want to go, maybe a set of Cragar S/S's, Torque Thrusts, Keystone Classics, something along those lines. "Classic wheels" with a "classic car". You can never go wrong. Steve
Bucky Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 I agree with Steve, and will offer another option....factory Chevrolet rally wheels, such as the ones Monte Carlo and Chevelle and Camaro had. I've seen a good number of otherwise stock '57 Chevies wearing a shiny set of rally wheels. They look good to me, and keep it "all Chevy".
RichCostello Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 I think that a nice set of chrome steel wheels would look great on it! That's what a lot of guys would put on their tri five Chevys back in the 60s and 70s.
David G. Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 (edited) Great looking Bel Air! I agree regarding the wheels, chrome steelies or Western Smoothies. David G. Edited February 16, 2020 by David G.
slusher Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Great looking build you hove going, I love the color combination!
jjsipes Posted February 16, 2020 Author Posted February 16, 2020 Although the Chevy Rallyes are a nice looking combo but, around here everyone with a classic Chevy has put them on their cars. I think they are over done. Just went looking through my stash and came up with a set of 5 spoke mags from the latest 55 Cameo. Think I'll use them with some Polyglas white letters
StevenGuthmiller Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Don't know which wheels those are, but you can't go wrong with any of these. Steve
jjsipes Posted February 16, 2020 Author Posted February 16, 2020 (edited) I'm liking this much better. A little bit of Jet Exhaust paint on the spokes Edited February 16, 2020 by jjsipes

jjsipes Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 I'm liking this wheel comb much better. Was just thinking about some different but I didn't like the larger wheels

Nitrobarry Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 Love the old school 5 spokes! Big inch rims don`t belong on anything old in my opinion.
jjsipes Posted February 28, 2020 Author Posted February 28, 2020 Making slow progress. Working on interior
jjsipes Posted February 24, 2021 Author Posted February 24, 2021 Digging through my stash to what I have painted to finish up and came across this. Thought I might as well get it out to finish. Making good progress. Trying to use the photo-etch grille that it came with.
NOBLNG Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Looking real fine there Jason. The wheels you have on it now look great! The photo etch grill is a nice touch too.
espo Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 I like the color combination and your interior is very correct looking as well. The photo etched grill is a vast improvement over the kits.
TransAmMike Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Looks great Jason, we all have opinions on the wheel's and I agree "old school" 5-spokes look great on these cars. But I did kinda like the chrome steelie idea on this one. It's what I had on my 1:1 '57 many moons ago. ??
doorsovdoon Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Looking good, really nice colour on this.
Scalper Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Really like the wheels for this. nice work so far . always a sucker for a '57 Chevy
