Bucky Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I found this here: https://www.musclecarsandclassiccruisers.com.au/aust-built-on-holden-hj-chassis---perentti-chev-350-for-sale-22900-sold.html
espo Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Interesting body work. Looks as if the wheel base is longer and additions to the body length between the rear wheel opening and the door along with an addition toward the rear bumper. The roof has been lengthened by at least the length of the new quarter window. The overall look is proportionate and looks fine to me. I have never liked the luggage racks on Corvettes and added with a black spoiler seems to be a big detraction to the overall appearance.
SSNJim Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 It looks like the rack/spoiler might be hiding an opening trunk. There's a heavy black line between the Perentti badge and the black spoiler, and another line on the right side between the rack shadow and the roof buttress that meets the heavy black line. Interesting car. I like it overall, even though the trunk lid is a little busy and the flares are a little much - probably more than a Corvette.
Snake45 Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I've seen worse. Much, MUCH worse. Lots of it. Am I now wondering how I could possibly kitbash it? No.
SSNJim Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 A Corvette America might be a good start for kitbashing....
SCRWDRVR Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 It’s not something I would do but overall not bad... I would get rid of the spoiler and get the wheels back under it so those flares could go but definitely one of the better customs like that I’ve seen....
Plashdaddy Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 From the time when it was cheaper to build a fiberglass lookalike on your Monaro chassis than import a Vette from the States. Of course the irony is the Monaro they wrecked to build it is worth more (in Oz anyway) these days than the Corvette it’s trying to emulate.

I had an '05 Pontiac GTO, (Monaro) and I have to agree, they are great cars.

espo Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Just now, Rob Hall said: There is a bright red one around the corner from me in great condition, sharp looking car...always liked them. Mine was a late '05 so it had the bigger '06 Brakes and some different front suspension settings. The car was 1 of I think 260 something built in Black Metallic with Black Leather interior. I replaced the OEM Wheels with an inch wider Inky 5 spoke wheels and one size larger Michelin Spot Tires and a few Pedders Springs and Struts. Removed the factory Spoiler, as it made the back end look to big. Removed the Pontiac V on the trunk and had the lower bumper section painted to match. Big improvement in my mind.
The Junkman Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Different......yes. Better......pretty debatable.
Draggon Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 The article said 97 Perentti's were made. Here's were one of them went:
