Brudda Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Starting new project. 32 ford, chopped the top. Compared to the stock one one the left. Opened the doors. Going to open the cowl vent also. The rear deck lid is already cut out. Using a flathead out of the 37 revell truck kit. Wheels from scale Motorsport. Have the model car garage photo etch grill. Do not have a color yet. Built a couple ,but not like this. Hope you like.
Brudda Posted August 4, 2019 Author Posted August 4, 2019 The stance I hope to get. Cut the frame to give it a aggressive stance. Hope this works.
Koellefornia Kid Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Nice work on the chop! I like where this heading!
Brudda Posted August 4, 2019 Author Posted August 4, 2019 Thank you 1930fordpickup and Thank you Koellefornia kid. The following pics are what I did to get the frame correct. I was just going to leave it but had to do it right. Here are the mods
Mr. Metallic Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Very nice mods on the frame. Gets that stance down a bit while maintaining the elegant "swoop" of the stock 32 frame. I know you said the wheels are Scale Motorsport, but I've only ever seen the American Racing style 5 spokes from them. These look really nice, which is to be expected from SM
Brudda Posted November 4, 2019 Author Posted November 4, 2019 Well back on the 32. Thank you ModelbuilderMark,Thank you Meatman, Thank you Mr. Metallic. Fitting the brakes. Going to do a standard hot rod 32, flathead, halibrands big drum brakes. Flathead from a 37 ford truck. Cannot remember where the brakes came from. Had a 289, then a boss 429 then settled for the flathead. Might put buckets? And still do not know what color. Have a photo etch grill and pe 32 stuff. Going to open the cowl vent and leave it open. I built a 32 out of box , so this detail and open doors are a new thing for me. Plus cutting the roof. (Chopped top).
mrm Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 I'm always happy to see another Deuce project on the forums.
Brudda Posted November 4, 2019 Author Posted November 4, 2019 Thank you mrm. A friend just told me to put bomber seats in it. I’m going to make some or get some pe aircraft seats
Brudda Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 Another look at the stance. With the brakes.

Replicas and Miniatures Co of Maryland offers a nice set. There's a company making a photoetch one. Sorry, the name escapes me right now Just a suggestion, and maybe you're not done making the mods yet. But I would definitely try to get the front wheels and brakes nested together more. Perhaps remove material from the back of the wheel that may be interfering (mounting boss/) and remove some of the face of the brake? Edited November 5, 2019 by Mr. Metallic

I refit the brakes so they are tucked into the wheel . This is the look I’m trying to get.
Brudda Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 And thank you for the info on the seats!

crossfire 2004 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Loving the stance and the wheels are perfect Bruce, I will be watching this build. I built this several years ago, can’t remember altering the frame.
mrm Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Nice progress. The brakes look really good, assuming you are going after more traditional look. Nice to see more and more '32 projects popping up.
Brudda Posted November 7, 2019 Author Posted November 7, 2019 Thank you guys. And thank you MrMetallic. I had to really look at the brakes. I went to a friends house to look at his and boy did I have things messed up. So I’m redoing them. This is what I have so far.
Lowlife ! ! Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Looking good Bruce, very nice chop, too many people over-chop 32 roofs IMO but yours looks perfect ! I really like the way you altered the chassis too, rather than adding a Z section , as someone else mentioned it keeps the flow of the chassis lines ! Thanks, I'll remember this tip for some of my future projects !
Tom Geiger Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Here's the bomber seats from the Revell '32. Great seats! You will have to drill those holes through.

Brudda Posted November 7, 2019 Author Posted November 7, 2019 Well I ordered bomber seats from teds model Marketplace. Among other items. Get them in 2 days I hope.
Claude Thibodeau Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Hi! Great project, perfect stance! Are the wheels from the 57 Chey Snap kit? They look fairly similar... CT
