PatW Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 Built box stock, unhappy with the exterior paint, having further problems with shaky hands/laying up masking tape. Easy build typical Tamiya workmanship in fit/assembly with superb decals.
Speedfreak Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Looks good from here Pat! I've never built a Tamiya kit, that will change soon.
peekay Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Great looking model Pat - and I know exactly what you mean about shaky hands!
Gramps46 Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 The Porsche looks really good. Sorry to hear you are a fellow member of the shaky hands fraternity.
iamsuperdan Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 No obvious paint issues I can see. Looks pretty dang good!
PatW Posted August 15, 2019 Author Posted August 15, 2019 Thanks guys for your positive comments. Dan our eldest son is in Calgary!
zakdoggi Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Well done Patrick. I'm about to tackle one myself - a commissioned build for a prestige car collector. As you say, Tamiya quality should ensure an easy and straightforward build.
PatW Posted August 15, 2019 Author Posted August 15, 2019 Thanks guys. Yes Geoff it certainly is Tamiya quality!
TonyK Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Agree with the others. Not seeing anything wrong with the paint but we're our own worst critics. Tamiya kits are always the best to put together.
Scalper Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Looks great to me. but even with all mishaps that happen in this hobby its still very rewarding to have completed a build.
PatW Posted November 2, 2019 Author Posted November 2, 2019 Cheers all. Haven't been here for a week or so, went to Sorrento in Italy for our youngest son's wedding last Wednesday!
Rusty92 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Cool kit and good build. @PatW congrats to you and your son. I bet it was a beautiful wedding.
PatW Posted November 4, 2019 Author Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) Yes it was thanks Jacob. Nice weather, nice food, nice Italians, superb setting for both the wedding and the reception. So there were three Wickham couples there, myself and my wife of 51 years, our eldest son and his wife who flew in from Canada, and the new couple, our youngest son Matthew and his new wife! Cpt Tuttle Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 I am "shaky Jake" myself so I know how it is, but I don't see anything wrong with the model, it looks great.
