Fairfax Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Hello everyone I'm new to your forum here and I'm from the Czech Republic and last year I started to like American cars. This is one of the first. Gradually, I'll be adding everyone built here. 1
ewetwo Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Welcome to the club and you have a beautiful build here.
Fairfax Posted September 8, 2019 Author Posted September 8, 2019 Thank you very much David for welcoming me and for liking the model.
Roadracer Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Yes....... Welcome, your Chevy looks great! Nice work on this.
PappyD340 Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Welcome to the forum Michal, Beautiful build!!
ThreeThree Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Whooooo. That's is one fine model. Well done.
Classicgas Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 My my, that is beautiful. How about some engine pics? My stepson lives in Prague.
ewetwo Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 A wonderful forum with wonderful members. You'll enjoy it here Michal.
espo Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Beautiful looking build, especially the paint finish. You picked a rather hard kit for your firth American build. The multi part front fenders can be difficult to get correct. I look forward to seeing more of your builds.
Fairfax Posted September 8, 2019 Author Posted September 8, 2019 Thank you very much everyone for your kind comments and welcome. I didn't expect such good responses. For Lee Rile: Really? And does your son build plastic car models, too? I'm from Prague 10, a flash of the Garden City. For David Espenshade: Thank you, you're right, the kit is old and of poor quality. The hood was twisted and the front bumpers were very hard to stick. I just have to write to avoid mystifying on my part that 51 'Bel Air was one of my first American cars, but otherwise I've been building for a long time, not only F1 and GT, but also several ships and planes and tanks. It's just that I messed up a great many other kit before this model. : -): -) Thank you all again.
Fairfax Posted September 8, 2019 Author Posted September 8, 2019 Sorry Lee Rilea, I forgot to answer you about the engine. Bel Air's hood is glued, and I didn't model the engine in any way. Nor, so far, has any other American car kit. I've done a total of four engines on cars in the past. (Until now, though, I've only got two of them left at home.) But even when I'm looking at them and taking them in my hand, I've never looked in the engine. And since one never knows how long one will have for this hobby of leisure, I don't waste time with the engines. But in the future, I'm not ruling out building a commuter engine. Moebius kit, for example, has engines beautifully executed.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Looks very good! Nice smooth paint job!
randyc Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Welcome and please continue to share your builds. This is lovely. I love that generation of cars.
Anglia105E Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Welcome Michal, and as others have said on here, you sure picked a difficult kit to start with....... very nice build and really good paint job also. I do like the American cars from the 1950's and this one is a beauty. David
Lunajammer Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 You've made some smart choices and the end result is a beautiful, fresh look at an old kit. I don't think anyone could've done better. Nice work.
DumpyDan Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Welcome :Michal, great looking Chevy nice work. Hope you post more builds in the future.
BeakDoc Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Beautiful Chevy! That black paint looks a mile deep!
