For those that only care about the model kits, skip to 8:43.

Will be picking up a few of the CHP Monaco kits .

Nice to see the old Lindberg '53 Ford back! That is one of their better kits in both the hardtop and convertible. Neat box art too.........a bonus is the Coke machine!

The Dodge police car I may grab. I once owned a '76 Dodge Coronet four door, but I wouldn't necessarily want to build a replica of that car. I see other possibilities with that one that aren't made anywhere at the moment.

Interesting that the '70 Chevy police car box art shows a car with this roofline..........

But the kit car has the Caprice "formal" roof. I like the one pictured better..........maybe if the ambition really strikes me someday, I'd do some extensive surgery on that one.

I think these are good issues. I noticed the Coronet states that it is a snap together kit. If it's the same as the Polar Lights kit, it still has some nice detail. The three headed monster looks interesting.

Didn't the '53 Ford come with a single exhaust in the original issue? Looks like it has the duals from the convertible now.

(Now, if they'd only pull a Moebius and give us a '54 Skyliner... )

We make fun of all of these Coca Cola based kits, myself included, but in reality they're actually a pretty good deal considering most of them come with the extras like the vending machine in this one. I think I am going to have to start picking some of these up for the extras.

MCW makes a '70 Impala Sport Coupe, which appears a bit off compared to this photo as far as the side window shape.   I wonder if the roof from the AMT '70 Wildcat would be a good starting point for the C-pillars and back window.

Hmmm...........that's a good thought Rob! Definitely very similar in appearance. Just some tweaks here and there. ?

Apparently, Coca-Cola is going through the alphabet looking for corporate sponsors. I was standing on the Metro platform right next to the Northeast Corridor, and I saw this AMT-rak  locomotive go by on its way to Washington, DC. Yes, it's in revenue service - you can book a trip on a train pulled by it.

And as I recall, one of their nicest efforts.

I think so as well and I am not a Ford fan.  It is good that some of the better Lindberg efforts are coming out, even though under the AMT label.  They're now one company anyway.

True. Apparently Coke won the drink concession on Amtrak trains, and this is a sort of a celebration and to let people know. Just thought it kind of fit in with the Coke branding spree that AMT has been on. I certainly didn't expect to see something like this on a federal government-owned locomotive.

Yeah, I remember seeing an old time locomotive in an older AMT catalog, maybe they can reissue it with a Coke livery.

I think making the new trunk lid would be the hardest part.  The Impala sports roof trunk was the same as the convertible I believe.  So, unless you had a '70 convertible promo to cut up, you'd have to fill in the center depression of the Caprice style trunk and make that work.

Yeah, I have one that I was converting to a convertible years ago and filled in the decklid, never finished it after finding an MPC '70 convertible kit.

I wasn't sure if they also made the convertible as a kit.  So, MPC made the convertible and AMT made the coupe?

Makes me wonder since the '71 was a completely new tool, if the '70 convertible tooling still exists.

Maybe the old MPC locomotive 'The General' kit with a box car full of Coca-Cola!!!!

I have The General in the stash.  I'd be happy with a period correct box car & some more track.

MPC made kits of both the coupe and convertible, AMT made a coupe kit only.  Not sure about the promos.  The MPC '70 convertible is weird, molded in glow in the dark  plastic and called the 'Bat Machine' on the box art..found a restorable glue bomb one in its box at an antique store in Glendale, AZ close to 20 years ago..I found an MPC coupe kit on eBay about 15 years ago..
