63 or 64 fair lane for a drag car???

Which year do you prefer for a drag car? The 63 Fairlane or the 64 Fairlane and why?

I've never cared for the baby fins on the '63.

64 all the way, I love the side trim on the 64.

I like the '63 just because they aren't, or don't seem to be as common as the '64. The '64 is much easier to obtain as Revell has done a few issues with it. I just built a '63 recently. I think they can make a pretty wicked looking little car. I may be a little biased though.

I like them the same. I’m like you too... the 63 is not as common!!!! Is that a resin body!!! It looks good??

While I love the 64 drag cars the 63 is just a prettier less boxy looking car.

Rare to see one in drag form.

Tons of 64's and few 63's so I would have to say 63.

Im personally not much of a fan of the 63 .

No, it was an original promo. I used a Revell '64 for parts.

Maybe the '63 because there was only one Thunderbolt prototype. Here's one I built using the MCW resin body:

The '64 T-Bolt is hard to beat as a drag car but on the street I prefer the baby finned '63 Fairlane .  I have one on my bench now that's going to be a mid 60's car with a 289 HiPo motor .

Man that looks good!!! Is that a resin body??  What chassis and interior are you going to use??

I happened to be at the Winter Nationals when Ford showed up with the Thunderbolts and I think that memory is why I prefer the '64 model. I think either one would work as it would just depend on your personal preference. The Revell kit makes it pretty simple to build a '64 Drag Car, but this kit could just as easily be used to build a '63 body into a Drag Car.

Ebay. You can get an original for the same or less money than a resin trans kit. I got mine for $50 plus shipping. Plus, I got glass that fit. The T-Bolt glass won't fit the '63. Two different roofs.

A resin body and parts that use a plastic kit for a donor for the rest.

It's an original AMT body and interior .  I'm using the T-Bolt chassis .
