Rocking Rodney Rat Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) Hey guys- I haven't posted up in a awhile, building has been kinda slow, trying to get my airbrush skills honed, with mixed success...anyway, as you all probably know I love to cut stuff up. This is the 'return' because I built this body many years ago, was never satisfied with the way it was coming together. An on-line friend just had to have it so I sent it to him (here's looking at you, Z-Man), I'm not sure whatever became of it. KK found one of the old Revell '34 three window bodies at the Atlanta NNL last fall and sent it to me. I cut off the greenhouse which is the start of the project. The body is the 'A' from the Ala-Kart with the rear surround from the Revell '32 sedan, for the correct corners...I'm not sure why pix don't load in order... :-( this is the concept, some parts from the Mod Rod kit.... cutting the body apart to narrow and lengthen it a bit to fit the greenhouse... hacking up a perfectly good '32 sedan body... Here's where I am now, plans are for suicide front and rear suspension with a full belly pan. Thinking of a blown flathead sticking through the hood.... Edited January 25, 2020 by Rocking Rodney Rat
Snake45 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Different and therefore interesting! Drive on!
OldNYJim Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 What a great start! It takes a lot of fusion and imagination to see how to use all those little sections and pieces of different bodies to get to where you wanted to be. I’ll be watching!
misterNNL Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Very clever and imaginative mating of Ford body panels into what is going to be a great rod project. I look forward to seeing this develop!
Kit Karson Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Maybe these will refresh the memories of some: Mod Coupe Blown PU Coupe Modified (sent to Z-Man) 2020 Mod Coupe missing pieces: Front Suspension; Scratch Frame Rails & Belly Pan Sides Revell Deuce Roadster Door Panels 2020 Mod Coupe Nose Job (I love watching the master at work!) -KK
Claude Thibodeau Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Hi! Very nice mash-up. Creative! Do you plan to scribe a line in the side of the cowl, like on a model A, at the junction of the gas tank and side of cowl? Usually, this very line was the extension of the hood-side top edge... That would make this very car look longer. CT
espo Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 I like how you're changing the body around. Getting ideas watching how you're going about this.
