Plans are to build a '56 Ford T 800 concrete mixer, similar to the real life unit used by Western Concrete of Los Angeles back in the day. Resin pieces will be from AITM.

Some enlarging of the front fenders and the lower grill area  were necessary to replicate a real Big Job. Found a frame that is suitable for heavy construction work including a period Hendrickson suspension. Would have preferred a small back window and an opening hood on this cab though.

Either way, this is going to be a cool looking build, not something you see very often, if at all. I really like this idea.

Built the truck  332  Y block with  some modifications and some donor parts, larger oil pan, larger fan and belts and rams horn exhaust manifolds.

 Nice motor, looks familiar ?

The 332 is the heavy duty Y block used between '56-'63, has a deeper block than the regular Y blocks. Technically '58 was the first year for the big 534 V8's used in the Ford C 900 tilt cab kits, but,  they were installed in some '56 and '57 test units. Could have used a 534, but decided to use what a regular production T 800 would have had. Will be building a hood scoop also soon.

I have never considered doing trucks like this but this is really interesting! I do like medium/ heavy trucks based on pickup cabs as well . Will be watching, great build so far!

Minor update, project has been stalled due to the AITM mixer still out of stock since thread began.  Good news is the KW Challenger mixer will be reissued?. Chassis painted, wheels and engine installed. Test fit of cab.
