What’s your opinion on Model Car World automotive finish paints and do you like to spray it from the can or airbrush?

Is it premixed or does it need reducer to spray from a air brush???

MCW paints are some of the best. Premixed mild lacquer colored per 1:1 factory paint, or custom mixed to order. Best sprayed with an airbrush, you can't go wrong.

How many 1/24 or 1/25 scale bodies will one bottle like this paint?

One, I usually buy two bottles just to be safe.

I can get 2 out of a jar if I use a base and as long as it's not a Mopar with the chassis and engine bay painted the body color.

They come in 1oz. jars.

This is part of the reason why I started using Scale Finishes paint.

It's every bit as good as MCW and it comes in a 2 oz. jar for $2.00 more.

2 oz. of MCW will run you $15.00 versus $9.99 for 2 oz. of Scale finishes.

Plus there are a lot of colors that MCW does not carry, unless you're willing to pay $18.00 for a special mix.

All that said, MCW is a great product.

I have only used the spray cans but I have found the colors look true on the ones I have done. I had one problem that was really my fault. When MCW says it's Lacquer you should know it's Automotive grade Lacquer and it will attack the plastic even with a primer coat underneath. I suggest testing on a bit of spruce from the kit as that will be the same plastic as your models body and then you'll know for sure weather it will attack the plastic or not.

I have long lamented the fact that MCW doesn't ship to Canada. Reading above of Steve's preference for Scale Finishes, I had a look at their web site. I was happy to see they sell to Canadian customers through Elm City Hobbies. Good news!

Incorrect.

I use the basecoat.

Sprays just as nicely as MCW.

The Cinnamon Bronze used on my '68 442 is Scale Finishes basecoat.

Good grief, that looks just fabulous. I can't get anywhere close to trim work like that. I'm stunned.
