This 1977 Pinto came to me in a trade.

It's not the best kit to build, but it's a model I don't have in my collection.

It gives you new respect for what is being produced in kit form today.

I painted it with Scalefinishes, 1977 Ford Dark Yellow Green..

Dang....thats my first car!...Dad got a 2 for 1 deal off the lot in Newport News Va back in 76-77 and my brother's was silver and mine dark green. Had a traveling job right out of school and I drove the wheels off that thing. They werent a refined ride but that little 2.3 litre motor was peppy. Later on I worked with a stone mason who reworked those Pinto motors into racing boats.

That is one very nice looking Pinto, reminds me of a lot of driveways back in the 70's.  Only change I would make is a tube chassis, BBF with 2X4, monster slicks out back; other than that it looks great just the way it is.

Aside from the from the raised letter tires and American Racing wheels, this is a replica of my first car. Built it from a kit and made it mine.

Correction: Aside from the model NOT having raised letter tires and American Racing wheels, this is a replica of my first car. Built it from a kit and made it mine.

Great looking pinto! I have a couple each of these and the later wagons in my to build collection, and you did a great job! All you need to make it more realistic is to place a fire extinguisher nearby, lol!

Thank you for the comments. I have to admit I was frustrated with this kit. It should have been a very simple build but many of the pieces did not fit together correctly so I had to modify as I went along. That and the black spray paint I had must have been old it did not adhere properly. Just don't too close!
