It is an attempt to dispel internet-based ignorant, irresponsible, and DANGEROUS bull, and even more disturbing false news in the mainstream media.

Do NOT take fish-tank cleaner containing chloroquine phosphate for treating the C19 virus.

Chloroquine has been found to be effective for treating Covid19, and is under trial in New York.  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/32074550

But medicinal chloroquine phosphate is entirely different than the POISON FISH TANK CLEANER CONTAINING chloroquine phosphate.

Tragically, a misguided Arizona couple took the poison fish-tank cleaner containing chloroquine phosphate, not understanding the difference, and apparently guided by internet bloggers.

One of them died, the other is in the ICU, and blaming the administration.

Don't be an idiot.

Label me as mostly cold-hearted - while my condolences go out to the family, I'd also wager a large amount of money that the label for the cleaning product emphatically said "harmful or fatal if swallowed." Ladders have warning labels about placing them on uneven/unstable ground. Guys work under cars supported by a single jack, or on live-connected electric machines without switching the breakers off. If one of my own immediate relatives was killed this way, I'd be sad, but still hold it entirely against the relative, rather than find a way to send the blame elsewhere. With the rights of having things to use comes the responsibility of knowing how to use them correctly.

They are 2 completely different things.

"Chloroquine Phosphate" is an aquarium cleaner.

"Hydroxychloroquine" is a drug used to treat malaria that is currently in clinical trials as a treatment for COVID-19.

You can also call me cold-hearted, but nowadays I often see people, do first and think after, and if it goes wrong, put the responsibility to others.

Sigh ..... it seems that scared people are more likely to make stupid decisions.

It's better to leave wise decisions to professionals, such as in this case, the doctors.

I hope the survivor has learned a hard but wise lesson, condolences to the deceased.

Has anyone noticed WARNING labels are on everything?  Electrical cords have giant sticker labels nowadays.  I think we are to the point of ignoring them, so that's the excuse I'll make up for this Darwin Awards contender.  Also note how the Lamebrain Media reported it, will leave it there.

They should take the warning labels off of everything and the problem will sort itself out. As someone else said, natural selection at work.
