Flat32 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 I'm loving the spark plugs and wires in particular.

bisc63 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 When you have as nice a wood grain painting technique as you do, why bother with decals? Your paint will age much better than any decal, and each models is unique. (no repeated pattern! )
beeRS Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Wood grain looks fantastic. I've never tried this. It looks tricky.

landman Posted April 12, 2020 Author Posted April 12, 2020 One last look at the interior before we button it up. Painted the frames of the body with the base color.
David G. Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Wow! Great wood grain detail!Ā Excellent kitbashing skills too. David G.
landman Posted April 12, 2020 Author Posted April 12, 2020 Thanks guys. Found the kit's decal sheet on the internet and printed it to fit andĀ cut out each image just large enough to stay in each recess by itself. These shapes will then be transferred to the Uschi van Rosten woodgrain decals. Ā Ā Ā Ā
landman Posted April 12, 2020 Author Posted April 12, 2020 Oops! when I hit the bench I noticed I used the wrong base color. So I touched it up with the correct one.
landman Posted April 16, 2020 Author Posted April 16, 2020 After all this work what a disappointment to find out the interior wouldn't go full depth into the body shell by aboutĀ 3/16" (2mm). So I shaved the top perimeter and the cowl area to allow it to nestle. It goes in but wants to come out so out came the gorilla glue and the clamps. It will probably pop out in the cabinet in the middle of the night and wake my wife up who will in turn wake me up "What was that noise? Did you hear that?"
David G. Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 That's a bummer about the issue with the fit of interior but at least it was a fixable problem. Fixing issues is oneĀ of the joys of model building. After all, if they went together too easily, they'd be puzzles. David G.
Intmd8r Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 I recall having a similar problem when I built this kit.
landman Posted April 17, 2020 Author Posted April 17, 2020 And so it is done....Hope you like it. Under glass photos coming shortly.
Phildaupho Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Great presentation. Looking forward to under glass photos.
