PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE tell me that the AMT model T double kit, Double dragster, Dragula and Koach are being repopped!!!

Since you asked so nicely: YES

Okay, Gregg...PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE give us some information to go with photos! PLLLLLEEEEEEEESE :DB)

Details about Lindberg police Chargers? Based on Testors full-detail, or based on diecast, or simplified like the Crown Vics????

Pics of Revell's '09 Challenger??

Details of those cool boats from yesterday??

The Black Widow looks great! Seems they're making the best of their diecast tooling for the Mustang and Challenger. Hopefully next announcement they'll include the '62 'Vette and Bandit T/A to the list of conversions from diecast. Those two are far better by far than the old AMT versions.

Greg , thanks for the live reports, sorry to keep asking questions, but whats the CJ Mustang , is it diecast or kit ?

Thanks

Bud

I can answer that one; that and the yellow Challenger are conversions from diecast to plastic. The '68 was pretty good as a diecast already, with the new parts it should be pretty well accepted. Three "new in plastic" '68 Mustangs, can't argue with that. My favorite year of early Mustangs B)

Now if they could just get around to doing a standard hardtop coupe.

California Special anyone? :D

You remember the full-detail squad car kit mentioned when the Testors Chargers were first announced, but never produced - my bet is that the tooling is finally seeing the light of day under the Lindberg label (woops - like Luc said above).

I'd also love to see the 'Vette in plastic, and the Firebird would probably be the best ever of that vintage, if Revell could get around the "Trans Am" licensing issue. But even though I'll snap 'em up soon as I see 'em, I ain't overwhelmed by the '68 'Stangs - there were a few mild proportioning problems, and Revell

itself tacitly acknowledged this by correcting them in the '67 GT350 diecast. But they'll certainly make my AMT conversion easier.

So dude - where are you getting your intel on the GT40?

**EDIT: never mind! Found the thread!**

Actually from what I just heard (over the phone B) ) the Charger police car is the same as we've already got; the description was that it was glue/screw assembly, opening doors, etc. Not sure if plastic or metal body. So it's apparently not the full-detail Testors plastic kit, more like different decorations on what Testors already have. Shooting it in plastic would be easy if they need to save $$.

The '62 'Vette is also on Revell's list. Didn't Revell's '67 GT350 come after the Bullitt? I built the American Dreams '68 and it looks pretty good; proportions are slightly compromised by the diecast factor, but nothing that noticeable, nothing like those horrific fenders on the twice-done-in-plastic but never correct AAR, for example. All the AMT '67's have their issues; a too-wide front track and the tires are lousy, whereas the Revell '68 has a fine set of wheels/tires and a natural stance. Hybrids between the two to get the best, always a good idea.

I still don't know if Revell showed their '09 Challenger yet, but it is still on their list for early '09.

Really? Well that blows!

Yup, the GT350 came after the Bullitt, and it improved notably on the former's slightly humpbacked greenhouse profile, and the wheel arches in the fenders which honestly looked reversed between front and rear in both versions of the diecast '68. I'd long been considering horning some ProModeler '69 Charger tires over some MPC '69 GT wheels, but the American Dreams version saved me that headache. AMT's front track problem ain't too difficult to fix, either; they're just a little over-generous with the brake disc mounting bosses - particularly on the driver-side upright - and once you file 'em down, even the AMT Firestones tuck under much better.

Yeah, we're looking well-covered in the new Challenger. I'm keen on when they're gonna do the factory '10 Camaro...

Yeah Gregg

I'm with Tom

Thanks for the photos and coverage so far.

I am really keen on the 32 5W

No more converting the old Switchers kits or the AMT body

For detail freaks that may be true, but IMHO it's a good move on their part from a business perspective.

The full-blown Testors glue kit is great, so many parts that all miraculously fit almost as if Tamiya engineered it. I have the diecast Testors Charger police car and it's not bad at all. I could live without the opening doors and all that vinyl stuff for the interior, but built carefully it's going to be a really good representation of a Charger police car. I've been hesitant to build mine; not really having a solid direction and not wanting to necessarily build it completely OOB with their graphics, and procrastinating on stripping all the paint off and starting from scratch. I'd like to build a GA or SC patrol car; and SC runs them both fully dressed and totally unmarked. Now I can probably do both, and maybe a NC car as well. Or a local Doraville PD Charger which is easy since it's essentially identical to the version Testors sells.

Through Lindberg the kit should be a decent sum less expensive than the Testors version, perhaps shot in plastic instead of diecast because of cost concerns. The police components from the diecast kit are designed in a way they're not going to fit the glue kit w/o some modifications. I can fully understand why they're taking the path of least resistance; they'd have to tool up a lot of new stuff yet again to make a proper patrol car out of the full glue kit.

If the builder combines parts from both a Testors glue R/T and the newer police car and they'll have something nice. Not the cheapest solution, but it's probably not getting any better than that.

All in all, not what we expected when Testors announced a full-glue patrol car, but considering the market and times at least we're getting something decent out of it.

EDIT: My source was wrong; they quoted Testors information vs. Lindberg information, apparently the Lindberg police Chargers are the full-detail plastic kit, according to Steve Goldman who posted his photos elsewhere. Nevermind the above. B)

But this is actually better news :D

Yeah, that makes sense. Guess anyone who feels that strongly about it is the type to make the conversion anyway...

Tom

I suspect the 36 will be a reissue of the Monogram 3W/Cabriolet mold.

I would love to be wrong though.

The Halibrands and one of the later issues were nice though as was the flattie

All of this is great news! I was looking for a Munsters coach and dragster at Toledo, after missing one at Zanesville. Any Tom Daniel reissues are good news to me. A 5 window Deuce by Revell, Fantastic! Too much good news! Too bad my wallet will be empty for the next year!! Thanks for the report, Gregg!

Going to be great getting some of the re-ish stuff. I was wondering where the 68 Mustang stuff was from.

I asked about the Hot Shot midget test shots I saw somewhere on the boards, Dave Van said that it was dead. That is a great kit, never re-issued, and far better than any midget out there except for Chris Etzel's. Chris did a slot body Hot Shot I have with white metal suspension, but I'd kill to have a re-issue. Anyone know the real deal? Want to sell me a test shot, or at least tell me how to fix the tiniest front tube axle I've seen?

Can't wait to get there tomorrow, looks like it'll be a good show!

Hey Gregg, did you get any pics of that Axial Scale Trail Truck with the '54 Chevy style truck body?

More info on the Revell '32 five-window ... Tim Boyd posted on the "other" board that it's NOT simply going to be a new body with the flattie and wires from the '32 sedan. It's going to have yet ANOTHER new engine, this time an early Hemi, PLUS the 5.0 SBF with the TPI unit from the Speedwagon kit AND a new set of valve covers! Plus, according to Tim, there will be other yet-to-be-determined updates.

I am BEYOND excited about this one!!! ;):) :)

I think your going to see an Ardun head motor.
