DRIPTROIT 71 Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 (edited) This began with a new Ertl Transtar II cab and all the Transtar II specific parts that I picked up cheap. The chassis is from the latest release of the Ertl IH 4300 kit that I picked up cheap at Olies. The trailer is from an Ertl Paystar logger kit. The 6v-92T Detroit engine is from GW trucks. The truck tires are from KJ at Double Take Replicas. The trailer wheels were left overs from my last Transtar II build. The frame extension was made using the frame sections the I cut out of my last Transtar II build along with a couple of sections cut out of an Ertl DM 800 Mack frame. I usually don't build completely clean trucks, but that is how this one came out. Edited May 28, 2020 by DRIPTROIT 71
biggreenponcho Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Beautiful rig! I especially like the muted colors
Jim B Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Great looking Transtar logger. Looks like it's sitting at the International lot waiting to be picked up & put to work.
tbill Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 You never fail to please. I thought your dump truck was your pinnacle build, but this has surpassed that by miles. What a gorgeous build, front to back it’s perfect. What a great build, I absolutely love this thing!
TECHMAN Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 ??? WOW!!!! That really does look like it's "sitting on the lot just waiting to be put to work"!!! This is one of my favorites too!!! DJ

Completely clean or not, the result is awesome, the conversion to a day cab, the details and especially the paint job, I really love the colors. You did a great job.....again Brian! Hermann.
vincen47 Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 (edited) Looks like it might be at home on the show truck circuit with the clean paint (the colors work well for it) and the custom visor and bumper. It would draw a crowd at the truck show if it were real. But, this model would draw a well-deserved crowd at a hobby show too. Edited May 30, 2020 by vincen47
AmericanMuscleFan Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 What else could I add that hasn't already been said about this fantastic truck? Probably this is the sexiest log truck in existence even if the term sexy is strange for a work horse like this! A feast for the eyes from every point of view! Thanks for this superb build Brian!!!
leafsprings Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Like all your builds, looks like a real 1 to 1. Especially like the stinger!

ReduitRetro Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Great looking rig for sure!, I have the same problem as we don't do logging out here either, pretty much oil and cattle. Nice execution of spare parts. I gotta get me a bag full of those tire sets too!! Again, nice work.

There's quite a bit of logging around here, but everyone seems to use regular logging trailers. I hope to build one of those too some day, but my to-do list is much greater than my time. ? The inspiration was a daycab cabover Freightliner on Youtube with this type of log bunk set up.
