I need to get a good coat of wax on there once it's cured. Wow! Your buddy Mark's work is extraordinary! Flawless. I'm very interested to hear more about that technique. As you've mentioned, my biggest concern on that windshield frame is twisting and/or bending it up too much. Oh, and then there's drilling the holes for the visors/side shields... very delicate work. Changing the 3rd member looks like it would be fun. Every track was different. My GT350 had different gear ratios for different tracks. Had to drill 28 holes for this cage on the rear end. Brudda Posted October 10, 2020 Author Share Posted October 10, 2020 The suspension assembly. The lower control arms have 4 holes each to drill. The upper arms have 3 holes to drill. And the spindles have 5 holes to drill. Cleaned the resin with dawn dish soap. Mfh uses a lot of mold release on their parts. Hope to have these prepped , painted today, then assembly tomorrow. The rear cage to the rear diff.was hard to do . Not because of the model, but I was having a all thumbs day. Some days are like that , so I just walked away. Better today I hope. I am going to machine a extension on the spindle. I adjusted the front tire/ wheel to this. Stance is much better. Starting to come around. MFH kits have these fun surprises. To me this is the hardest part of the build.Built some fillers for the windshield posts. Still have to make the visors and side wind deflectors. But the windshield is finished . Or clear plastic. Have to find some clear plastic and I guess scratch build the visors and side wind deflectors. MFH kits. Crazy. I'm not sure if I misunderstood your post, but my kit came with a windshield (very thin film plastic and you have to cut it out of a larger stamped sheet) and the visors and side windows - those were in an accessory plastic bag. Hello Nazdrave. I did look for the visors in the kit. And there was none. I also noticed that I have no street bumpers and no street dash board. I must have the total competition model. So I will make the visors and put in the competition dash, and no bumpers. Wanted more of a street car but that’s ok as I will adjust the build. Trying to stay several steps ahead of the build, trying not to get caught off guard with something. But something always comes up on a mfh build Like missing a drill hole that you cannot get to. . Fitting the radiator support. Was all distorted. Fitting the rear trunk and supports. Not real happy with the trunk silver. Might have to use aluminum for the trunk. So far not a lot of drama. When I started modeling , I always built a car and finished it. Fast forward to today, I have a super snake build to complete. That is monthly so I have a little time. ( for Liam White ,Marks good friend and owner of Agora models) The DeAgostini Ford GT is the same thing, The parts are hard to get with this Covid thing. My friend Mark ( from DeAgostini) asked me to build the DeAgostini Red Bull f1 car. I have a obligation to him. He helps me with anything so I will help him. It’s 1/7 scale and it’s huge. It’s also a rc car. But has two body’s, one for a static showing and a lexan body to run as a rc car. With the static body , it’s hard to tell it’s a rc car. But I have all the boxes. No waiting for a subscription to arrive. I will come back to the cobra when the Red Bull car is finished. The picture is the 1/12 cobra frame. The other parts are the Red Bull wings and front tire.
