Dodge LS1000

Here is the next project on the bench. It’s a resin Dodge LS 1000 from AITM on an AMT GMC chassis. Doing some minor weathering on this one.

Nice build up with the Dodge LS 1000 Brian. I’ve built 2 of these so far and have one more yet to build. Looking forward to seeing more of your building.

Last time I saw a Dodge LS 1000 was around 91 or 92, in western Pembroke Pines, FL.  The truck and trailer was orange and owned  by  a moving company.

 I did a little research on these when I built mine. For anyone who might be interested, here is s what I found. First, Dodge was bad to change how they identified their trucks so there will be variations. Most of these were identified this way:

L- series of the truck

V or N- v configuration engine or inline 

S or T single or tandem drive

Some were referred to as simply LS or LT without the middle digit.

My wrecker build was tandem drive with a 6-71 so it is a LNT 1000.

Just some fun useless information. ?

I really like these old Dodge cabovers, they have real character,  its looking really good, nice colour scheme too.

I made several mistakes on this one but it still turned out decent. I may bring it back to the bench this winter and rework some of the issues.

Oh man I like this one!! I don’t know why but it it seems like back in the day when you saw a Dodge like this one it always needed a bath. You really captured the look of these old work horses! Nice job weathering!  Great work!

With its large headlights, the Dodge always has a very friendly face. Nevertheless, it remains a nice cabover. And with your model you have set him an extremely handsome monument. Good work!

Very very nice, looks great. Nice color combo and the weathering looks good. 

I didn't know you could put a Dodge cab on a GMC frame and not have the thing melt into a pile of goo. Some kind of crime has to have been committed here.
