The sold listings tell the story; this is the current top dollar paid:

I have seen them from time to time but never thought much about it.  That’s a lot of money!

No thank you!... I'll take your word for it... ??

At least I won't feel guilty for spending an "X" amount of $$ for a Monogram Big Drag kit new in the box....

Modelhaus needs to do some limited runs and auction them off on ebay. I would and  that avoids the order issue / backlog of before.

It’s not only modelhaus items that this seller has for ridiculous money. Look at his other items. For every two items he has up for auction, he plans on clearing a cool grand. But I suppose if you can get a uninformed buyer on the hook, he’ll make his money.

I am soooooo glad that I was able to order and get everything that I wanted from Modelhaus before they shut down.  I still have 2 of their complete kits of 1950's cars ('57 Lincoln & '59 Oldsmobile), and a couple of 1950's conversion pieces ('51 Ford & '52 Chevy) that I have yet to work on.

While I definitely wouldn't mind making a huge profit on them by selling them on EBAY, that's not why I bought them.  They are going to get built, as long as I live long enough to do it.

When Don announced he was shutting down, he had the class to do a “Last Call” and allow us the chance to do a final order.

Like my good friend Rich, I ordered a few item I had long meant to order to build. I was sad to learn that some people took advantage of Don’s kindness and placed large orders for speculation and profit. Those are the models you see on eBay for huge numbers.

I placed an order for two kits as they were retiring. I recently sold one to another model builder as I couldn't decide if wanted to build it or not. In the interest of treating fellow modelers fairly, I sold it to him for what I paid for it, plus shipping, as I knew he would build it. Within 3 weeks of me shipping it to him he had it done and displayed. I could have listed it on eBay and made several hundred dollars but got more enjoyment out of seeing it built. Sure the money would have been nice but that wasn't my intention when I placed my order several years ago.
