Tom Geiger Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 I typically buy 1/24 and 1/25 diecast of vehicles, primarily light trucks, I cannot get as kits.
kilrathy10 Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Yep... Amazing what you can find in die cast that you can't find in plastic... These look real nice... Loving all those old vans....

I’d bid on one through my bid sniper and wait.. I’d get outbid in the end! I did this one truck at a time for a few weeks. I got frustrated and bid on three at once.. and you can see what happened!
Snake45 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Okay, I'll play "Random Pix." Here are some of my earliest/oldest/first diecasts, dating back to around 2007-10. At that time I wasn't seeking them out or actively looking for them, but would buy cheap ones at the local gas station or Walmart if it was a car I was interested in, and if the overall shape of the thing looked pretty good to my Mark I Eyeball, and give them the treatment that's now known as "Snake-Fu."
randyc Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Nice random pics guys. I don't think I have anything I haven't posted on here durnit. I was getting frustrated by the LACK of photos of some vehicles on the net and decided I would try to post photos of everything new I got so if some did a search they might find something on the net before they dropped $100 on a $5 diecast. again, thanks for sharing - nice to see others' collections.

Metal chassis, so it's quite heavy. I actually like the M2 Mustang fastbacks better, but this one isn't bad at all and held down the slot on my shelf for a LONG time until I got a couple M2s. Here's what it looked like right out of the box:
Tom Geiger Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 (edited) Just some VWs.. The Type 3s are cool since we have never seen kits. The Beetle just because I liked the color and paint scheme! Edited September 29, 2020 by Tom Geiger

Tom Geiger Posted October 12, 2020 Author Posted October 12, 2020 Thought I’d add this one to my pile.. I did a build thread on it:
randyc Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Nice. I keep looking at that truck, wanting to add it to collection.

No, it is a 1936 Atlantic, of which only four were made and were inspired by the one-off Aerolithe from 1935. The Aerolithe body was Elektron (90% magnesium and 10% aluminum). The Atlantics were aluminum. The original Aerolithe was only around for 10 months(?) and then disappeared. Edit: Apparently, the second Atlantic which was made specially for Jean Bugatti disappeared also in 1938... and has never resurfaced?? https://www.bugatti.com/media/news/2019/the-bugatti-type-57-sc-atlantic-a-style-icon/ Jay Leno and David Grainger https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=bugatti+aerolithe Edited October 18, 2020 by NOBLNG
