Want to do an RSR conversion for the Fujimi kit.  Started with a smashed flat nose body much list this to create the front faring.

  • Removed the rubber moldings
  • Filled the light openings
  • Enlarged the oil cooler opening
  • Cut the bumper free from the body

Attached the bumper to the Fujimi RS 3.0 body and created the brake cooling ducts.

The RSR wing ("whale tail" or "tea tray" whichever you prefer) was much larger than the production car version.  Germany would not allow Porsche to install the larger wing on the production cars. Thankfully Reji offers the competition wing.  It is designed for the Tamiya Porsche 934 kit but can be massaged to fit the Fujimi body.  I added a brass pin to hold the wing in place.

The car is running a fuel cell so I removed the gas tank and fabricated a cover plate.

My preferred technique on Fujimi Porsche builds is to use the curbside chassis, suspension and interior tub and add the EM parts to it.

Thanks Trevor.

The cross bar on the Fujimi roll hoop is installed behind the passenger's head down behind the driver seat.  That seems unusual to me, typically it angles the opposite direction.   However I have found period photos showing this orientation.

Looking great JC, looking forward to future work.  Got my first Porsche model kit (911 GT2 Road) a few weeks back but haven't got started on it yet so I like tolook at these Porsche builds as reference.

Thanks Mike.   Tamiya's GT2 is a great kit.  I have the road version but have only built the race version so far.

Had to remove the front body mount to make room for the oil cooler I fabricated.  Created an old school AMT style body mount.

The oil cooler will receive a debris screen during final assembly.

Found some nice brake rotors (cross drilled them and added color detail). I believe they are from a Fujimi wheel set, don't recall which one.2v2HGnss5xHzrnL.jpg
