NOBLNG Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 (edited) The lift gate is a bit warped on this one so I am adding a layer of .030” styrene. If I can’t get it to sit nice and hinge half decently I will just glue it in place. I’ve got the body painted with AK Colors RC016 Ochre and one coat of Mr. Hobby clear. I will paint and foil the trim before another coat of clear. Thanks for looking and have a safe and Happy New Year!? Edited December 31, 2022 by NOBLNG
Steve H Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Hi Greg, great to see this one back on your bench. Excellent details all round. That colour is very period correct looking, was that close to a factory colour?

They did have a yellow that was slightly lighter and brighter. I had a good buddy that had one.
BuilderX Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 this is a sweet build keep it going love what your adding!
Oldriginal86 Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 My brothers 1972 K10 was that ochre color. Close to a factory color for sure.
NOBLNG Posted January 2, 2023 Author Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) I got all the foiling done and another coat of clear on it. The kit tailgate hinges are pretty chintzy so I added metal pins and drilled into the tail light buckets…the lights will hide them. There is no trim around the tail lights so I made some with the BMF. When this coat of clear is good and dry, I will paint the black stripes on the side trim and tailgate. Under a brighter light it looks closer to the factory colour.? Edited January 2, 2023 by NOBLNG 3
slusher Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Beautiful paint and foil Greg, color looks just like my brothers 72 Chevy pick up..

I should have lowered the alternator a bit to get it away from the radiator inlet. I had to put a 90 degree fitting on the rad hose, but that’s typical of me, not enough preliminary mock-up work.?
NOBLNG Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 (edited) I made a cheap set of shock absorbers for it and got the interior installed and body mounted on the frame. I got some of the detailing done, and still a bit more to do. I have to scratch build some side mirrors yet and I see I forgot the center rear view mirror.? That’s all for now. NOBLNG Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 (edited) And I wound up glueing the hatch shut.? Edited January 6, 2023 by NOBLNG 3
KWT Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Looking good, Greg... gonna be a great finished piece.
Steve H Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Looks awesome Greg! Beautiful work in the engine compartment, the details really add a lot. Sorry to hear about the having to glue the roof, was it too warped to cooperate? Those tires are all business… I just had a forehead slap moment ??♂️, I totally forgot to install rad hoses on my Blazer! ?? That’s what I get for rushing the end… Looks like it will be under glass soon.

dino246gt Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Looks fantastic! Mobius pickups have multiple sets of mirrors, I have extras if you want some? Also Revell Land Rover 109 kit has extra sets. Let me know and I'll bring some or we can meet up anytime?? Dennis

The roof will still be removable I hope.
