Pete68 Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 (edited) Here we go. These Ertl kits are so much easier to build compared to AMT Models. I got the frame completed and some paint on the cab and hood today. When the weather permits I’m going to paint the frame. Here’s the Paints I’m using Krylon Sweet Cream: Cab/ Hood Yenkin-Majestic Oliver Green: frame Stripes are from Model Truckin that was left over that I cut down. Edited January 1, 2021 by Pete68
Pete68 Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 I decided to put the decals on and call it a day. I also sanded off the IH on the mud flaps so my new ones will fit

Pete68 Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 Thanks Jeff and thanks for Hosting again. Yes I always liked the Ertl kits feels good when a kit works with you not against you. It’s supposed to snow here in the Missouri Ozark Foothills tomorrow I may not get the frame painted
Pete68 Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 Sam. Thanks for stopping by glad to have you.
Pete68 Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 (edited) I got the frame painted this morning. Now time to let it dry this tractor paint usually takes up to 3 days to dry and cure. Edited January 2, 2021 by Pete68
Mopar - D Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 You’re off to a great start. Your colors look good on the IH.
Pete68 Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 Dan. Thanks for the complement. International always had different color Coronations with their trucks in the 70s-80.
Pete68 Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 This will be the power plant. Cummins 350 with a 16 speed transmission. The gear shifter always Remind me of a 16 speed splitter with a vacuum cleaner hose spiraling down it in this truck.
tbill Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 Looking good so far, you’re really making some quick progress. Color combo is going to look sweet.
Pete68 Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 (edited) Bill. Thanks for the complement seems the old Ertl Internationals got along good with me. I may have to build another if I get this one finished. Edited January 2, 2021 by Pete68
Pete68 Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 Assembled the Engine and painted it. Here’s a quick mock up
signguy2108 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 I was wondering at first about the color combo, but it's looking good. Dare to be different!
Pete68 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Larry. Thanks for the complement. It took me a bit to figure out a color scheme
Pete68 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Well before calling it a night I painted the tanks and added some Spoke Wheels to it.
gotnitro? Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Wow your flying thru the build !! Great progress so far
Pete68 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Thanks Jeff. You can build at a good pace when your Model kit goes together with out issues like these Ertl kits. If I get done with this Truck early can I start another build? If not that’s OK
stenfalk Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 I really like the color combination too. One day I'll definitely paint one of my small-scale rigs like that!
