cobraman Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Not much done yet . Have been working on the stance . Tires and wheels are from a die cast car . Not totally sure how this will end up but I have a couple ideas .
misterNNL Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 These are so very cool as a starting point for a "bread sled" custom truck project. Lots of room for advertising on the side if you want or you can slam it to the ground and add a sun visor for a rusted out and ratty cruiser.
1930fordpickup Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Rays Food truck..... Just kidding. This is going to be cool. I did not know he did the longer version of the International metro truck. I think that is what this is.

BIGTRUCK Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Ray your a wild man on these resin projects. Gofer decals has some really nice decals for a build like this. I like this style truck.
Steve H Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Cobra Brew Works! Ray, you are on quite a JF tear. Loving seeing all these unique builds. I have a Divco milk truck, you are getting me inspired sir! I definitely think you should consider making your own decals for this one, maybe a patina paint job? Definitely low!! Whatever treatment you give it, I’m certain it will be cool. Cheers, Steve
misterNNL Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 If you are still looking for inspiration go to Pintrest and search for"bread sleds". You will find every imaginable variation there.
slusher Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Real nice.wheels Ray, and really nice delivery truck body..
cobraman Posted February 14, 2021 Author Posted February 14, 2021 Thank you fellows. Yes, i found a ton of photos of these things on line.
cobraman Posted February 15, 2021 Author Posted February 15, 2021 Managed to get the body cleaned up and in primer.
TarheelRick Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Going to be a cool build any way you go with it. When I first saw it my initial thought was a Woodstock hippie van - guess you had to live through that era.
misterNNL Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Just a suggestion as you look ready to paint here. If your windows are going to be clear you might want to clean up the opposite side interior window frames a little. They are very visible in the photos you posted. Not a criticism at all just thought you want to take care of that one small detail.

OldNYJim Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Love it! What a cool project! I’ll be following Also, I never heard the term “bread sled” until tonight - that’s really funny!
cobraman Posted February 17, 2021 Author Posted February 17, 2021 Got some paint on this one . Not real happy with this body . I will post a pic later and show you why .
cobraman Posted February 17, 2021 Author Posted February 17, 2021 Here is a pic of the reason I am disappointed in this casting . I was masking it up for a two tone paint job and when I got to masking across the back I discovered that the side trim molding is higher on one side than the other . No way I could continue the separation line across the rear . Yellow tape shows where the bottom of the side trim is .
Steve H Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Wow! That missed by a fair bit... Colours look great together Ray. I always really enjoy the unusual subjects. Cheers, Steve
cobraman Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 Very disappointed with this body. Should not have this problem for a 50 dollar item.
heyjohnxx Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 I've got one of these. Thanks for the heads up

Oldcarfan27 Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Does the trim on the driver side slope downward? You can fix it, but it'll have to be repainted. Sand off the side trim and reinstall it straight using plastic strip and super glue.
