Here's one I've been working on. AMT 1960 Continental Ranchero. Almost done!

HOLY COW!!! That is amazing! I know I keep saying this to everyone but I can't wait to see this finished too. Great fab work, it looks factory made.

Ok, now that I think about it, this could go here too. I started working on this 1928 Lincoln wrecker, I hope to get more work done soon. here's the wip thread..

Hi Dennis!

Great work, era-correct color, and the Breezaway roof is cool. Is the box out of a late-model Camino? Just curious...

Claude, The box/bed is entirely scratch built. When I get some photos transferred from my phone to my computer I will post some WIP pics.

Hi Dennis!

I should have known better! What puzzled me was the side walls forward rounded corners, like on the Camino. Impressive styrene sculpture!

Hi!

After being made aware of the Mirage Caddy by fellow modelers on this very tread, I tried my hand at it with a 64 Johan Caddy. Complete pictures on this forum in the light commercial category. Enjoy!

I’m curious; will the convertible top span the entire passenger compartment or do you have something else in mind?

I'll probably try a couple different concepts to see what looks the best, along with being potentially functional.

I can hardly wait to see it finished.  Amazing details in this conversion.

1962 Chevrolet El Camino that I built many, many moons ago.   I attempted to keep it believable by using a "6", 3 speed stick on the column, black wall tires, dog dish hubcaps, and basic gold paint, based on the Bel Air model.   I've actually had friends and guests get into arguments over whether Chevrolet really made one in 1962.

Great looking conversion. I like that you kept it real with the Blue Flame and 3 on the tree. Ford offered the Ranchero but this would have been a far more practical car in reality.

Hi Douglas!

Great concept, very OEM looking.

I suspect the only thing that would have made the bean counters at GM cringe about...  would have been the need for exclusive upper quarter panel stampings, to crown the rear box. Yours look dead-on!

Oh I like this! Very nice Douglas. I have a real soft spot for ‘62s. I would like to do a very similar build some day, the only difference is that I would use an Impala. Beautiful build.

This is my version of an El Camino NASCAR truck series "what if".  I thought it was a great idea,  unfortunately my execution of the build didn't live up to my hopes!  But I still think it's a cool idea and something NASCAR should have considered.

I hadda look twice to make sure this wasn't mine! HAHAHA

I built a '62 based on the Impala SS convertible:

Looks like a twin to your build! Further indication that GM missed it in 1962!

SWEEEEEETTTTTT!! Awesome build Keith. I will definitely use this as inspiration when I get around to doing mine. Did you do a WIP on this build?
