First real attempt at a diorama and some outside shots messing with my camera on my phone. Any pointers would be appreciated thanks

The first shots look nice.  Except when the house got into the photo. Try to be sure everything in the photo is to scale.  

Your focus is good, I tell people to take the photo from a distance away so both the model and background will be in focus.  Then crop it down to what you need.

I also tell folks to take a whole mess of photos, then pick out the good ones.  It's not like we are paying for film these days!

Ha ha! reminds me of a comment I had at the outset of my '34 Chevy's reconstruction.
