89AKurt Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 This could be a fun model to build, don't have to worry about it working, much less getting pulled over.

SSNJim Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Wouldn't those old Econolines do that stock by just slamming on the brakes?
Mark Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 The Econoline pickups had a 160 pound counterweight attached under the bed floor, near the rear bumper, to prevent that. Not sure about the Dodge A-100 pickup, but it probably had a similar arrangement.
SSNJim Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 OK, I'll buy that. I thought it was added later in the run, but it was there from the beginning. Apparently it did reduce the tendency to do a stoppie.
Oldcarfan27 Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 (edited) This guy's late to the party, things like this have been done before. Edited May 19, 2021 by Oldcarfan27
Brian Austin Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 You can build this with the impending release of the T2 VW Bus https://www.roadandtrack.com/motorsports/a10370438/sideways-volkswagen-bus-speedycop/
BlackSheep214 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 Any of those would be an interesting morning rush hour commute. Even better during a 5 o’clock rush hour. LOLOLOLOL!!!
BlackSheep214 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 Just came across this on MSN a little while ago.... https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/a-dc-3-transport-aircraft-makes-an-eye-catching-rv/ar-AAKds3e?li=BBnb7Kz
Brian Austin Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 There has been one of those turned into an RV in Australia, and another one in the US built in Space Shuttle dress, in later years converted into a food truck.
Oldcarfan27 Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 In the 50s and 60's they'd design cars with jet or rocket influences. Now we just build them using real jets and rockets!?
ZTony8 Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 There was an artist in California( Phil Garner, now Pippa Garner )who did that to a '59 Chevy. It was on the cover of Road & Track back in the 70s.
Brian Austin Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Phil Garner's Chevy is included in the linked page I posted in my reply up the thread a bit.
