fairlane1320 Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 This is my return effort after a long pause in modeling, so I chose a simple one. I've got many, many WIPs already, so I promised myself I won't touch another model until this one is 110% DONE. ? This isn't something I would normally build, I generally stick to drag and muscle cars. I lowered it as low as it would go, and pushed the tires inboard as far as they would go. It's obviously not very accurate, but I like how it looks.
'70 Grande Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 You're off to a good start with the mods you've made to the stance and tire positioning... looking forward to how this build finishes-out. Welcome back to building!
Tom Geiger Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 I pulled that kit out to look over this week. It’s still on the kitchen table. Pretty much a simple kit aimed at kids back in the day, and the last hurrah for the kit tooling (of all the cars in the series). I was surprised at how nice the tires are!
slusher Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 I picked up the 66 Chevy stocker but been thinking of getting this kit (65 Fairlane) kit it’s at Hobby Lobby..
Sam I Am Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 You have a great looking start. Love the color and the mods really help. Years ago I built the Buick in this same series on a different forum specializing in dirt track subjects. I also thought the wheels were really wrong. In the ensuing discussion, one of the members showed pictures of a series ran (IIRC) in New York in the 70's. The cars looked just like this series of models, so don't sweat the look. ?
fairlane1320 Posted August 4, 2021 Author Posted August 4, 2021 Thx Guys! Finished it in under a month, I'm pretty happy with it. ?
stavanzer Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 Looks great in Petty Blue. Super Sharp Build!
dragcarz Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 Wow that’s very nice, I also love the Tow truck in the Zephyr livery. Very cool!
